Well here we are on volume 5!! Plenty of room for growing bumps and stashes of Thermometers and pee sticks!!

This thread WILL bring BFPs, everything crossed ladies apart from your legs!!

hey ladies, would you mind if I joined the group? Been charting for about 6months, not all on FF though. TTC #1 since May last year. Got pregnant in June but m/c'd at 7 wks and no luck since. AF due on Tues next wk but considering I can't get a luteal phase longer than 10 or 11, I am expecting it anyday now.
Here's my chart for anyone interested:

Welcome angster Smile Chart looks like it might be going down but then it could shoot up tomorrow! Its a waiting game for you now but a very frustrating one I know.

If you want to, I think there are ways to extend your LP (vitamins??) but I reckon someone cleverer will be along soon to let you know.

For now welcome and enjoy this lovely thread!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 26/01/2011 15:16

((hugs)) for terrys and battery - I'm sorry af got you Sad. Hopefully though it's given you both some reassurance that everythings getting back to normal x

iwish - congrats!!! That's fab news!!!! Grin Grin

Ps angster my lp is usually 8ish days but sometimes gets to 11or 12 - acupuncture has helped with that.

angster · 26/01/2011 15:32

thanks girls for the warm welcome! I'm on 100mg of B6 so I am hoping that will extend it this month - I didn't realise that if it started coming down already that that was a bad sign Shock.

I'm very close Izzy to getting acupuncture but does it hurt?! That's quite an impressive improvement to go from 8-11/12.

congrats to iwish for the bfp!!

Karbea · 26/01/2011 15:36

MrsArch Thank you. Yes lets wait till tmr.. I guess I must have OV'd if I had a +OPK though?

TerrysNo2 · 26/01/2011 15:41

angster sorry I didn't mean to be negative!! It doesn't mean its a bad sign as its only 2 dips and they could always be explained away, as I said if you get a rise tomorrow then that would make them unimportant. Sorry, foot is coming out of mouth now!! Blush

angster · 26/01/2011 15:56

oh no Terrys please don't worry - it's not negative, I never actually had realised before but looking back at my charts, I now see a downhill trend before AF and an uphill one the month i got pregnant. durr!!

Iwish · 26/01/2011 17:04

Thanks everyone for the congrats. Doesn't feel real yet. Will fo in a couple more days when the line is darker :)

Thanks for the advice ladyg kind of frightened me. I take levothyroxine which Is for t4. Does that make a difference?

Sorry just a quickie as I'm on iPhone, will try n get on the laptop later.

((hugs)) and waves to everyone xx

HarderToKidnap · 26/01/2011 17:12

Hi everyone, thank you for the "welcomes".

Waiting for AF now, before I start charting. She should be due tomorrow. My blood test this month was only 20, so I didn't ovulate. Part of me is upset and trying to explain it away with the fact that I had the winter vomiting bug on on ovulation day this cycle, and part of me is OK with the whole thing - I know I can and have ovulated recently, and it's one of the easier infertility problems to sort out.

New plan: chart for next three cycles and get relevant bloods done. Then off to docs in May after my weekend away in Amsterdam if my blood tests show I consistently don't ovulate.

Congrats Iwish, that's fab!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 26/01/2011 19:14

angster I'm also taking b6, forgot about that one. Would def recommend acupuncture, it has helped with my cycle as well as making me feel more relaxed afterwards (and yet strangely energised if that makes sense?). Try to find someone who specialises in fertility - if you're anywhere near Bristol I'm happy to recommend mine. And no, I don't find it painful!!

weimy · 26/01/2011 19:34

Congrats Iwish!* how bloody exciting!!!!!!

Sorry Terrys and Battery :(

Welcome to those new to the thread!

ERTD def got me tho not on cd1 quite yet. :(

Well new baby was brought into work today (gorgeous) and I also realised yet another member of staff was pg, but what upset me was someone saying I would be a rubbish Mum because babies are not like dogs(I've got three),I know it was only a joke but it has been said before and it is getting tired. Also I have kind of figured out that they are different.Angry

Hope that everyone else is ok xx

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 26/01/2011 19:41

Harder do you know for certain when you ov?
I ask as if I did the 21 day blood test, it would come back as very low cos I generally don't ov till after cd23.
Just a thought - most generic tests are designed for people with textbook cycles.
I ov fine. Just very late :)

spilttheteaagain · 26/01/2011 19:50

Iwish if you are on thyroxine, definitely get your thyroid checked now and see the GP. It's nothing to worry about but your body needs extra thyroxine in pregnancy so as soon as a pregnancy is confirmed your GP should up your dose and review you more frequently to make sure your TSH stays under control.

Congratulations btw!

TerrysNo2 · 26/01/2011 19:51

weimy sorry AF got you and for insensitive comments, people can be so dim sometimes!

batteryhen · 26/01/2011 19:59

Hello everyone. I am quite relaxed about beind on cd1. I am having a scan tomorrow to check on my lining, but feel ok. My Af seems better than last month. I am sure acupuncture helps. I second what izzy says about acupuncture. Mine is fab but I changed from my first one as I felt she was too general - my one now has a special interest in fertility.

My CBFM arrived today and already I have confused myself! I am sure I don't need one, but it made me feel better at the time!!xx

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 26/01/2011 20:04

My first temp reading in nearly 3 months yay!! Grin altough, I would have actually preferred it if it wasnt necesarry! :( Guess I'll have to cough up and get VIP treatment from FF again! boring chart

level · 26/01/2011 20:41

Hi all

I knew AF was on the way but it was a bit late so for the last 2 days I've obviously been holding out some hope because when AF kicked in today I was overly upset for someone who "knew" it was on the way. Oh well.

I'm about to start using FF for the first time and had a quick question. Do you record day 1 of the cycle as the day after my period starts properly (i.e not spotting) as this is how CBFM tells me to record, or if I came on properly today do I start from today?

On a slightly different topic - I get ovulation pains and pre period pains only on the left. Does anyone else get one sided pains or do you think it's an indication that there's something going on on that side?

Thanks

MrsP81 · 26/01/2011 21:29

So much to catch up on today!

Sorry AF got you terrys. It must be good to know that your body seems to be getting back to normal relatively easily though.

Glad you?ve achieved a more decent amount of sleep now jaggy!

Welcome essence. I agree with the others, I think CD 18 looks likely.

Oooooh, iwish congratulations! Smile

MrsA, I?m going to go with CD25 for your ov day.

Chart is looking good strawberry, fingers crossed for you.

Welcome to mrsden too. I recognise you from somewhere! Don?t get disappointed about your chart yet, its only 8 DPO so too early to say. And your temp can?t continue to rise everyday or you would eventually cook! Smile

mslk, you are definitely allowed to disagree with FF, I think we?ve all done it! It does look to me more like you ovd around CD20.

Good news about AF arriving battery. That sounds wrong but hopefully you know what I mean.

Welcome angster as well! Lots of new ladies today!

Sorry AF got you level. As I understand it, CD1 is the first day of full flow.

essenceofSES · 26/01/2011 21:39

Wow! You lot are wonderfully chatty :)

weimy - what a stupid comment to have made!!! I'm Angry on your behalf!!

Iwish - hopefully you're reassured by various replies that the underactive thyroid is not that uncommon and it is possible to have a completely straight forward pregnancy.
Do get your levels checked though as almost always, a dose increase is needed. The tablets boost your thyroxine levels but the TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) should be tested as well as this is an indication of how much thyroxine your body needs. I tend to have a T4 level that is almost normal but my TSH tends to be high and the doctors have said that that is because my body needs a slightly higher level of T4.

level - sorry not sure of an answer to your question. I don't often get noticable ov pain and my period pain tends to be across the whole of my abdomen.

angster - hello! I've only just joined this thread today too. Not sure I'll be able to keep up if it's this busy though!!

Karbea · 26/01/2011 21:53

weimy that wasn't very nice.

level I think the pain comes from the ovary that is ov'ing, I had really pain on my right hand side last night and it's fine now Smile

I did another OPK today and was + also was a bit egg whitey heres my chart

digitalgirl · 26/01/2011 22:28

battery glad to hear you're feeling ok about af. Acupuncture does wonders. Haven't shelled out for the cbfm as I fear it's another thing to get me stressed, and I'm sure it's not designed for women with cycles longer than 35 days.

weimy sorry af got you too. And sorry to hear you're getting horrible insensitive comments at work.

Welcome to essence and angster. Sorry to hear of your mc angster, there are quite a few of us on here charting post-mc.

level sorry af got you too. I count first day of red bleeding as cd1. Also some people are just more sensitive on one side than the other. Doesn't mean you're only ovulating on one side, just that's the only side you can feel anything happen.

terrys my WTF cycle was anovulatory and the cycle after that was really short with a short luteal phase (and low temps for post ov). This cycle is much more like my usual.

Waves to everyone I've missed.

I reckon I'm about 4/5dpo, but ff thinks I'm 6dpo which is a bit more exciting. Not feeling anything other than the usual progesterone-y cramps. Am hoping something interesting will happen this weekend with my temps. I searched on ff for charts with my ov date and swi pattern - there was a reassuring number of pregnancies. However, still have to remember it can't be more than a 25% chance.

harder if possible it would be good to start charting asap. You'll br able to compare what your luteal phase temperatures are with your follicular phase - so you'll know how high they have to go to confirm you've ovulated.

mrsden · 27/01/2011 07:59

Thank you all for the welcomes!

Congratulations iwish, a line is a line Smile. Will you test again? Did you have a feeling that it would be positive?

Weimy take no notice of those people. Some people can say nasty and insensitive things without thinking.

I am fed up of people telling me how easy they found it to get pregnant, or how super fertile they are, or how they got pregnant by accident or without even trying. Noone in RL knows I am ttc so I know they are not meaning to be insensitive.

MrsP81 I think we have probably been passengers on the same bus. I have been on the buses since the June one but no luck yet. I am hoping that this thread will be luckier for me!

My temp is the same as yesterday so I'm pleased it isn't sliding yet. I'm 9dpo. my chart

nickstermum · 27/01/2011 08:43

Here you are, i found you!

jaggythistle · 27/01/2011 08:54

Getting 2ww anxiety :) Hurry up next week!

Have made it worse by messing with the overlay on my homepage. I changed it to ov day + coverline mode. The last few data poits on it now exactly match the chart from when I was pg with DS. Not that it means anything at all, just looks funny!

chart

(as usual I should be working)

StrawberryCreamTea · 27/01/2011 09:25

Hi all

My chart has really disappointed me today...

As digi (fx for a temp rise for you this weekend) and MrsA suspected all along, FF's moved my ov date today from cd18 to cd20. Even though I was expecting it I'm feeling really fed up, the 2ww's hard enough without doing two whole days of it over again! My temps are on a slow slide and I'm miserable. Even though I didn't expect to get pg immediately after my mc, I still feel cheated that I've finally pinpointed ov dates to make things more accurate but still it isn't feeling positive this month. Sorry for the moan, please feel free to ignore this, it just makes me feel a bit better to get it out...

iwish when are you planning more poas action?

mrsden chart's looking good there... fx for you!

karbea here's hoping for a nice temp rise to confirm your ov

harder I feel for you, one of my big fears was not ov-ing but I'm sure that the bug will have something to do with it, that one takes a real toll on the body so hopefully that's the reason

weimy that's so insensitive of someone to say to you, joke or not. I'm sure you'll be a fantastic mum xx

battery good luck for the scan today, hope your lining's looking lovely x

ifatfirst congrats on the first temp reading!

level don't worry about feeling upset by af arrival even though you knew, it happens to all of us. You should definitely count cd1 as the first day of full flow, not spotting

Waves to MrsP, essence, terrys, angster, nickster, spilt, jaggy and anyone else I've missed.
