How important are orgasms in ttc??

I'm sorry if this email is all tmi but I ask whether this is really true because a doctor told me it was important. I find it pretty hard when it gets to the big O and I know i'm put off because that's all i'm thinking about.
Does anyone else find it hard or any success stories of not having an O and still conceiving???

Well I don't know what the big O is. No experience.

But I'm a mother. Grin

Interesting question!

I think the theory is, when you orgasm, your cervix constricts and pushes the sperm further inside you to the right place.

However, I'm not all that good at it!! When we're in the right time of the month, I know that DH getting an orgasm is way more important than me!! So we concentrate on that. The rest of the month, I make sure I'm the priority.

I am a mum however unsure if ever had big 'o' unsure why it matters to be honest x

Yes interesting question and I've often wondered myself.

Hope not TMI but I used to O before DH but then read that this can have some effect on CM and acidity levels or some such thing. Probably rubbish but was enough to put me off. We now aim for me to O after DH and I must say it does feel like the little swimmers are being pulled in better and I don't experience as much 'love gunk' oozing out afterwards Blush

Sorry about the question and I know it?s ridiculous as I?m sure many women have conceived without havng an orgasm but I have heard that it sucks everything up when you O adn therefore gives you more chance. I wasn't sure how big a difference it makes though as I really struggle to and we have be ttc for 6mths now. I was considering getting an urrrm toy to help the process Wink during BD but not sure that would have an adverse effect!!!
Anyway ShowofHands, that?s the answer i like!

By the way WRT not having an orgasm and still conceiving of course millions of babies are conceived that way. Not sure about DS as we were on our honeymoon and quite frankly having so much sex it would be tricky to pinpoint the exact session, but it's very likely I didn't O. However, as time ticks on with TTC2 I'm now willing to try almost anything - even having an Orgasm FFS!! Grin

This is a really interesting question - but I am also interested in the replies. Having had no experience of the big O itself, its an eyeopener that in actual fact there are other women in the same position as me!

I wondered about this. Since starting ttc-ing we've made a concerted effort for me to orgasm after OH. Before that it was always ladies first Grin

I've not managed to get pregnant though Sad
