Title says it all really, is it ok to go for a smear if there is a possibility of being pregnant?

Blush that i do not know the answer to this!

no, you shouldn't have one done if you might be pregnant (i think!)

dribbleface · 12/01/2011 21:26

thanks - i sort of thought that too but wasn't sure!

I wouldn't have one done if I thought I might be pregnant.

However I did have one in December at 3DPO when I had just conceived but I didn't know it (and wasn't trying to get pregnant so didn't consider the possibility). All seems to be ok so far but I wouldn't risk it if I was you.

Book for post period/pre ovulation (a small window!)

I believe that the recommendation is to have a smear test mid cycle, which for most women would be around the time you ovulate, so very little chance you'd be pregnant.

Where in your cycle are you? Maybe try and book your smear test for next month mid cycle so you can be sure you're not pregnant?

yeah will book an appointment for earlyish mid cycle next month. Was just wondering really.
