Hi All

I'd be grateful for any experiences you can share about implantation bleeding... No idea what's going on with my body and hope it is the above. Experienced sporadic, light spotting when I wipe for the past few days. Also got the occasional weird twinge on my left side, a dull low backache and stomach cramps. Feel like my period is on but there's nothing there. Did an ovulation test in case it was that and it wasn't... Wondering whether any of you can give me some nitty gritty, real-life experiences of implantation bleeding in case it's that. Help appreciated - so sorry for TMI - can't find anything helpful online. Thanks

I had implantation bleeding with my second and third pregnancies. Spotting brown blood at anywhere between 6 and 8 weeks, less with # 2 but several episode with # 3. I had the sorts of twinges you describe with all of my pregnancies, also like really really bad PMT that didn't end as there was no period.

The pregnancies that had the implantation bleeding were ok in the end though, despite being a bit scary early on. dd2 is now 10 and dd3 is now 5 :)

How many days is it since your last period? and have you taken a pregnancy test?

Hi BumpyBecky

Last period was 27th Nov - have a v irregular cycle (PCOS) but have never felt like this before. Had a MC in Oct.

If it isn't implantation bleeding, I just can't figure out what it could be. Thanks for sharing your experience - welcome any feedback from anyone!

Its sometime hard to tell if you are having implantation bleeding or if you are spotting because you are going to be starting your period soon. Implantation bleeding usually contains a small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. There is often the feeling that it is a period with light cramps and bloating, but the bleeding is shorter, lighter and just not normal. Only about a third of pregnant women experience implantation bleeding.

Somethings you may want to look out for are cramping, backache or increased bleeding, a small amount of blood being discharged should be considered as implantation bleeding which is nothing to be concerned about.

Lara- I had it too with ds3 at 7 weeks- light brown blood and only very small amounts. The cramping can be normal too for early pregnancy as your uterus starts to grow. I went to epu at the hospital and scanned me because of the bleeding and they dated me at 6+6 and found a heartbeat which was massive relief. Have you contacted triage at the hospital?
