Hello,

I've been ttc since Aug 2010. Usual cycle between 31-43, but in Oct had a 66 day cycle! Thought was pregnant but tests BFN and so had blood test and an ultrasound scan for PCOS - both came back negative! Last period was 43 days! I'm now on CD22 and last night went to the toilet and had pink blood on the tissue! Now I it's like the end of a period colour!
Anyone know what's happening? I read that this could be a symptom of PCOS, pregnancy or menopause or even worse cervical cancer!

Have booked a smear test next week to try and hopefully rule out the last one!

Oh also I'm on a diet and the weight is going on!!!! Stomach also very bloated!

HELP!

wallydog,

Your cycle would certainly be seen as an irregular one.

I think that whoever has ordered the blood tests has missed something here, you should be referred onto the specialists rather than being under the care of the GP.

What blood tests were done and on what days?. When were these done (you need up to date test results). I ask this as they should test both your LH and FSH levels on or around day 2. That is a useful test to have done as an imbalance of those two hormones may indicate PCOS.

Have you had an internal ultrasound scan done in the last few weeks to see if the ovaries are polycystic?. Cystic follicles associated with PCOS however, can and do disappear and they are very small. It can take a highly skilled sonographer to spot them.

Have they checked for thyroid imbalance; this is yet anoher possible cause of such problems.

Any bleeding between cycles should be checked medically; the cause is often not serious however. Possible causes could include cervical erosion or low levels of progesterone.

Thanks Attila
I never get to see the same doctor twice so no-one knows my history until they look at my notes!
I originally had the ultra sound scan because of left side pain just for one day!
They couldn't get a good pic so they did an internal one after. The results were apparently all normal looking.
The blood test was done around CD31!

No I havn't had thyroid checked - but will mention it next week!
You seem quite knowledgable - are you speaking from experience?

Thanks for all your advice! Smile

Update - Went to doc's and he has referred me to the hospital for a blood test for thyroid and progesterone (see if I'm ovulating)on day 19. So see what happens!
