could i have tested too early?

my lmp was 6th december so i was due af again 2nd january. i had sex 26th december and 1st january. the day af was due and the day after i had period pains but no blood. so far af is 5 days late.the thing is last month af was 3 days later than normal. i did a test today but BFN.could i have tested too early as i only had sex 12 days ago? any advice welcome. TIA

Yes, it could be too early. You may have ovulated later and therefore still caught it with sex and so be pg, but it not show on test yet. Make sure you use first morning urine as it's most concentrated. On the other hand, you may have ovulated bit later and that is why you AF is late!

Wait another few days then test again.

definately. neither of my pregnancies showed till i was 7 weeks pregnant even though i tested and they showed neg then tested again few weeks later and i was pos. it depends how high the hormones levels you have are

Hey I have a bit of the same problem, AF is now 2 days late last AF was 10/12/10 had sex 18,19,21,22,23 and 25 have pcos and on Clomid (finished now for the cycle) have had negative tests but don't wantto wait to long as if not pg then need to take Provera to get my period(it was Provera that induced my last period also) I don't want to miss the chance of an October baby but if I wait to long and have to include the 10daya of Provera I will

Fingers crossed. My advice is to put it out of your mind for a week (if you can) then test again.

I know it's tough, but you can't change things by worrying and testing, so try to forget about it for a while and see if things resolve themselves. Good luck!
