I only ever get ovulation pains on my right hand side. Is my left ovary just being lazy?!?

Maybe you only feel the pain when you're ovulating from your right?

JustShaggingForNow · 07/01/2011 10:58

It's every month though?!?! But confusing as I thought that it should alternate?

I seem to remember my consultant once saying taht you don't always alternate which overy ovulates. You could several ovulations from one side before it alternated.

I agree with what Deidre has said. My DH is a GP, but when a junior doctor did loads of obs & gynae. He told me it's completely random from which ovary you ovulate and so you could ovulate from the same one for a number of months in a row.

Even if you were only ovulating from one, and you are doing so every month, it won't reduce your chance of conceiving.

I'm the same JSFN I only ever seem to feel it on the right hand side. I've often wondered if perhaps my left ovary doesn't work, or maybe I just don't feel it in the same way on the left.

Interesting that it is completely random though, I'd always thought it alternated left and right every cycle.

I have also been told that the process of which ovary ovulates is completely random.

That's very interesting ladies - thanks for sharing. I only get pains on the left side and thought the right might be defunct or something. Good to hear I'm normal (well, nomral-ish....!)
