Apologies to the poster below, but it drives me CRAZY when people are obsessing after only a few months of TTC.

We've been trying for 4 years. I popped in for some comfort in a week where my period was 10days late (which it has never been apart from my previous pg when I miscarried), we've been told our PCT has suspended IVF funding (after we'd had our first appointment at the clinic) and yet another person very close to me is pregnant and I've had to fake happiness and joy. Again.

Hoping there are some people out there with success stories after a long wait. And by long wait, I don't mean 3 months!!!

Just needing some hope while we save for IVF which was until 3 days before our appointment paid for by the NHS.

just wanted to wish you lots of strength in this difficult time. We've been TTC for 2 years, so not as long as you, but I'm feeling really down so I can't imagine what it must feel like for you. I often get frustrated by all the rules and procedures forced onto me and my hubbie by the NHS. All we want is a nice, understanding clinic that doesn't treat us like a number.. Good luck!!!!

We TTC for almost 8 years, underwent IUI and 2 IVF attempts which failed. Consultant told us we were a typical case of "unexplained infertility". We took a break, decided to go for adoption and a few weeks after we were approved to adopt we found out that I was pregnant. We now have two DS, both conceived naturally. Seeing so many of our friends becoming pregnant was VERY hard but we tried to relax (easier said than done), tried to get on with our lives and, very importantly, we shared our struggle with a small group of friends who were a wonderful support to us - we did not feel alone!

In a similar boat myself, 4 years trying 3 mcs. Last one 12 months ago, been trying (Hard) for 12 months and nothing....

Got an appointment at Liverpool womens hospital on Thursday, cant wait, at last answers and good sound advice.

Now i dont think that we will have another child in 2011, its too late really.

hi scotch I know its easy to say, but please try and think positive.

broke so sorry to hear about your mc's, it must be devastating.

I do understand how you feel, we have been trying 2+ years now and have just had results which show there is nothing wrong and we just need to get on with it.

We are not entitled to any NHS treatment as my local hospital does not have any treatment and the nearest clinic where we have been going have just told us we are not eligible as DH has 2 children from a previous relationship.

Although we can afford the first stages of treatment, clomid and scans, theres no way we can afford IVF so if nothing happens over the next 6 months then what will be will be.

No doubt there will be more pregnancy announcements over the xmas holidays but I am genuinely happy for them, as I'm sure they will be for me one day.

I really hope you get your wish and will keep my fingers crossed for you both x

I'm with you on the long haul! We've been trying for over 3 years. I have PCOS & DH is 'normal'.

I've had clomid which made me ovulate but no pregnancy, now on metformin for PCOS but 3 months in, it's only just sorted by cycles out. I bled for nearly two months!

Our consultant referred us for IVF but the clinic in the next county said no because my BMI is above what they want, even though I have PCOS & struggle to lose weight even with diet & exercise!!!

Sees totally unfair how we're treated!

Not sure if anyone is still out there on this thread. Having endured 4 pregnancy announcements in the last month from friends, we've been campaigning hard with my GP, the PCT and even my MP and have got the green light for a round of IVF.

Great news but also very scary!

It had better be successful, as otherwise I will have to disappear when friends' babies born in May. And June. And July. And August. Bastards :)

Good luck Scotch. My friend has just had twins after IVF and 5 years of trying. I can't imagine what it feels like for her or you, but I want to say good luck for your treatment- well done for campaigning so hard to get what you want!
