Have namechanged..

Am TTC and since m/c in June my cycles have been 21-23 days. Previously they were always 27-28 days long and Ive had no problem getting pregnant before (3times)

Is this a factor in why Im not getting pregnant now? (Im 33)

I don't think Im ovulating every month, as only ever see a miniscule amount of EWCM.

Would my GP care if I went to see him? What tests would he do? What sort of treatment is there for this problem?

Not keen on the dietary supplements route as already spent money on good pre-natal vitamins etc with no effect whatsoever..

VERY GRATEFUL for any advice/input! THANK YOU..

Hi jinglesmells

Cycles that length should not necessarily be a bar to conception - 21+ days is considered normal. Yours are also regular which is another good sign. Mine are only 22-24 days ish and I have conceived easily twice.

How many cycles have you been ttc for? If it's over about 12 you are certainly justified in going to your GP and asking for initial blood tests (FSH, LH, progesterone and thyroid function).

I wonder have you ever considered charting your cycle? This would help you see if you are ovulating and where in your cycle it happens. I suppose my half thought is that you could be ovulating quite "late" for a 21 day cycle and not having long enough left for the egg to implant? Just a thought.

Mc messes with your body for a while. Mine were the opposite, four or five days longer but considtently and regularly so. This is my fifth month and the first time it will be back below 30 days, according to ov date. I used to be 26 or27 days and have gone as long as 32 post mc.
Most important thing is that you have a regular cycle back. Perhaps consider ov sticks or even a cbfm to put your mind at rest that you are indeed ovulating. You can get very cheap ov tests on the Internet.

Just to say, ov sticks and the CBFM track the rise in hormones associated with ovulation - they don't actually tell you whether you've ovulated or not. The only way to be sure is to chart your temperature at the same time. If you see a rise in baseline body temperature at the time of ovulation for at least three days then you can be pretty sure you have ovulated.

I used to have 27-78 day cycles too then went to 23-25 due I think to stress (and age, I'm 36). Following a month of acupuncture I had a 28 day cycle again. Not pregnant yet, but its a good start.

I don't have much ewcm anymore either. i'm not sure whether it makes a massive difference but others may know.

Good luck.
