How long do I have to wait to try again after 7 week MC?

As long as you want/need. Have you had a period yet? I found after my MCs that it took about 3 months to get my periods back and a a further 3 months for them to be back to normal.

KTDace · 16/12/2010 14:26

Wanted to add, plenty of people seem to get normal periods very soon after MC.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Sleepycaz.

I had mc at 7 weeks in September. Started trying straight away (once had stopped bleeding), used temping and opk's to know when I ovved. I ovved a week after I would normally expect to (if I treated day 1 of the bleeding as CD1) but then had a really short 7 day luteal phase before a fairly normal AF.

Started trying again and fell pregnant first "normal" cycle. Now 8 weeks and have first early scan on Monday. Am taking low dose aspirin as a precaution as have a history of Thyroid antibodies and strong family hisory of autoimmune disorders which could have been a factor.

Good luck!

Hi I had mc at about six weeks and we had been trying for a year at this point. I heard that you are ultra fertile post mc, so we tried immediately and I became pregnant without getting a period in between at all. Hope that it all works out for you.

So sorry about your mc.

I too mc'd at 7 weeks back in August.

We had unprotected sex before I had my first period post mc, but didn't get pg. My next cycle was only 26 days, and I didn;t get pg then, but the month after that we got lucky.

I'm now 6 wks pg and I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about this one - I definitely feel much sicker!

I researched this subject after my mc ans there seems to be no reason to delay ttc.

Good luck Smile

I just wanted to add that I did not get any morning sickness with either of my pregnancies, so although reassuring it is not a given that you will get this as a symptom.

Hi

I had a very early miscarriage about 18 days ago at 5 weeks; for me it seems to take a while for my cycle to get back to normal (after a 13/14 week termination for medical reasons it also took about 3 months) and i have yet to ovulate this cycle...

its seems to vary wildly when ladies are physically ready from right away to several months but i think the main thing is being kind to yourself and not putting yourself under too much pressure xxx

Jojay · 17/12/2010 19:52

I agree about the sickness. Although I am finding it mildly reasurring, this is Dc3 for me and my 4th pg.

With DS1 I felt mildly sick occasionally, with DS2 I had no pg symptoms at all, no sickness, no tingly boobs, nothing, but he was clearly absolutely fine.

Before the miscarriage, I felt very mildly sick on one day only but this time I seem to feel sick a lot, randomly at any time of the day or night. My boobs have grown too which they never did before.

So who knows - perhaps it's twins!

I had a 7 (ish) week mc. checked out the hospital advice and miscarriage assoc advice, they recomend waiting for one period to return for dating purposes, I think. however, if you do get pregnant before that they said not to worry. All I wanted was to be pregnant again as soon as possible and did in fact get pregnant straight away (lucky me) ds is the result. Had to count mc as last period which I did not like, but was pregnant.

It was wierd making a booking appointment for the midwife at the same time cancelling the second appointment for the lost baby. Sad

DontEatOrangeSnow · 18/12/2010 07:12

SleepyCaz I had a MC at 13 weeks and waited for 1 period before starting ttc. The first one came after 4 weeks 5 days, and was a bit reassuring if I'm honest before starting again. My dr said wait 3 months, but the hospital said 1 - I chose the 1 month option :)
