Does painful sex mean cervix is in right place?

Does anybody know whether painful sex might have something to do with the cervix being in the right place to conceive around the time of ovulation?

It's not normally painful for me but I'm just tryng to add up all the signs on this complicated charting to work out what happened when!

Any help gratefully appreciated Smile

Thanks.

I normally experienced discomfort during sex when I was mid cycle. Definitely think intercourse mid ovulation can be painful for some women. I had this and am now 20 week preggers! But must add, it can also be a sign of other gyne related problems- so keep it monitored.

juba,

Deep pain during sex can be indicative of endometriosis particularly if this is a long term problem. Any symptoms that are cyclical in nature and get worse leading up to menstruation should be further checked out by a gynae.

I sometimes get a little bit of discomfort at certain times of the month but have really only noticed since coming off the pill. It's on my to do list to ask the doc about when I visit in new year. I was once told I have quite a low cervix which would probably cause it so am putting it down to that and it's never unbearable. Tends to be more when we are doing positions that allow quite deep penetration like doggy. I'd maybe just ask the doctor to be sure as attilla says

Normally your cervix would be high and therefore not painful round ovulation time. It is lower for a few days before and after ovulation.

I wonder if the cervix is more sensitive when it's soft at ovulation time?

As LadyG says, it's quite high at ov time so would normally get less errr... bashed.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I've not had any gynae problems discovered so am a bit puzzled. The pain last time felt like my left ovary was sore and then kept getting bumped!

Is this what it feels like for you?

I realise this is extremely old thread but Juba did you get to the bottom of the ovary pain during sex? I have this exact thing right now but my right ovary. Feels like DP is knocking it about and I get stabbing pains.
