i took a pregnancy test yesterday with first urine (superdrug) left the test for 3 mins but no line so threw it away was emptying the bin this evening looked at test and there was a definite pink line. do you think it is positive or not i have no idea when it appeared. i have no more tests in house. really anxious because i drank quite abit last night. would a evaporation line be pink

I think you should probably assume it's an evaporation line.

Take another test tomorrow, but don't worry about the drinking. It was a one off and wil not have had an effect either way.

This happened to me a few years ago. I was bleeding a lot at an odd time and just felt strange - wondered if it was possibly an early miscarriage. GP said a pregnancy test at that stage would probably still be positive if so. Did one but didn't read instructions properly and thought if it didn't 'show' immediately it was negative - no immediate line so put it down in the bathroom and forgot about it; found it a couple of hours later and it was strongly positive, with a pink (not grey) line, as you describe. To be honest I still don't know what was going on as obviously I was bleeding a lot so even if I had been pregnant I wasn't anymore.

Sorry - completely unhelpful story I realise! Try again tomorrow? And I agree, don't worry about one evening of drinking.

Hi,

Nothing of any use to add at all, other than I have had the exact same thing happen to me this evening.

I have done two test's now and thet both have a very feint line but they were left longer than the 10 min deadline, so I dunno what's happening.

Hope you get the answer you are hoping for
