Late period: what do you think?

So, I've had 6 post-depo periods, all 28-31 days apart. I'm currently on day 40 of my cycle without any evidence of a period (but loads of CM, if you'll excuse the excess of information). I took a First Response test on day 35 which was negative. Not particularly stressed, in reasonable health, not feeling ill. Any ideas?

Hi Attenborough I'm not an expert in these things but i would say that HPTs can be very unreliable. There are obviously all kinds of reasons for a late period but I'd say test again with first morning urine.

Could you have ovulated late? If you have CM you could be ovulating now . How old are you? (if you don't mind me asking). If you are getting older periods can be more erratic.
