TMI ALERT! I had my first and hopefully last chemical pregnancy recently, the spotting/bleeding lasted 8 days and tests were bfn, I counted the first day of bleeding as CD1 and on CD21 I started spotting again with a proper bleed a few days later so I counted that as CD1. I got EWCM on cd12-14 so avoided SWI as having a month off but on CD19 I had super stretchy CM again that was blood tinged, I thought it was going to be another bleed but was just a bit when I wiped and after a few hours there was no tinge to it at all and there was less of it.

Ive got sore boobs which is a usual pms symptom so things seem to be returning to normal but I keep getting twinges near my hips on both sides and my tummy is a bit sore at times and uncomfortable to lie on (but maybe thats psychological)

Im concerned about infection or that it hasnt all come away and have no idea of what to expect or what is normal after a chem. So thats why I turned to MN after much googling I couldnt find much info about what to expect after a chem and so thought I would ask you lot if you dont mind sharing your experiences with me as I dont know whether to see a doctor or whether to just wait and see how it goes. Thanks

Hi, Sorry I am not sure what it is you are asking? Did you get a positive test with the first month and then after 8 days got a negative?

A chemical pregnancy is a very common thing to happen, many women never even realise they were pregnant with there period arriving maybe only a day or two later than expected.

It is highly unlikely that you have an infection, that would generally only happen with a preganancy with retained material which is much much further along in the first trimester.

I have had several chemical / early pregnancy losses. Most of them are no different from a normal period. And did not affect my cycle at all. I think the earlier the loss the less the effect.

You did not say how pregnant you thought you were when you lost the pregnancy. But I assume it was early as it seems that your cycle has got back to normal. There is no need to see a doctor from what you say.

Anyway I hope that this reassures you.

Got a positive then started spotting and it was negative straight away. Was just 4 weeks when it happened so had I not tested I wouldnt have known I would have just thought it was af, though it was different to normal.

It was just when I got bloody cm during my 2nd cycle afterwards thats what threw me a bit, at first I thought maybe it was ovulation but I had already had ewcm for 3 days a few days earlier and that had stopped. As we werent trying this month I wasnt sure what other explanation there could be for that.
