if you have sex one day then two days later you have a normal period could you still get pregnant? i ask because this happened to me and my period was due 3 days ago so just wondered.

any time you have unprotected sex, anytime in your cycle, there is a risk of pregnancy.

you can be fertile any time in your cycle

so yes is the answer

ok thanks Lulumaam i just wasnt sure cause my period was normal in every way so i assumed that if i had of got pregnant i wouldnt have had that period.

2 days post sex , if the egg was fertilised, it would not have even made it as far as teh uterus to implant...

you need to do a test. hope it's the resutl you want

BUT implantation takes at least 7 - 10 days, normally (a LP of less than 10 days is considered not long enough) and i think 14 day LP is average, so even if there was an egg ready, which fertilised (which normally happens several hours after sex) it is unlikely to be able to implant

you may have ovulated late this cycle (hence AF would then be late) and if that has happened then yes you can get pg.

well IF you are pg it wont show in a pg test until at least 10 days after sex, so no real point taking a pg test 2mo cause wil be -Ve

nannyl its been about 33 days after sex.it was just before my last AF.this AF was due 3 days ago.

Actually, it's not quite true that you are fertile at any point in your cycle.

There's an 'absolute infertile period' in which the risk of pregnancy is almost absolute zero from about 24 hours after ovulation until the end of the cycle.

But unless you know for a fact that ovulation happened, from charting or something, then the bleeding could have not been a technical (in family planning terms) period and just been bleeding. And if you have an anovulatory cycle (no ovulation) then you are fertile from day 1 of the next cycle; so it's possible that you might be pregnant from it if that happened and if you ovulated right after the bleeding as sperm can survive for about 5 days in favourable conditions

TBH I wouldn't have thought so, not if it was just before your period would normally have been due, then your period arrived on time and was normal length/heaviness etc. Because your nomal period just after would indicate you had ov'd at normal time 10 - 14 days (ish) before.

sorry, you are potentially fertile from day one after an anovulatory cycle. Not definitely fertile :)

i have done 2 tests both BFN but still no AF. i will give it another week or so and if still no AF then i will test again and if BFN they i think i will visit the GP just to see whats going on.
