Can anyone shed some light on this situation!?

Okay here goes. TTC two weeks ago during my fertile window, 5 days or so afterwards I was nearly sick in the morning! And every day since I felt sick in the morning and sometimes later on in the day. I was more hormonal than I've ever been in my life, I cried just at my boyfriend asking if I wanted lasagna for dinner. My boobs grew, too. (This wasn't all 5 days after, it has been between two weeks ago and now). I keep getting so dizzy too and nearly passed out on the bus last week. It got to the point where I was getting so many pregnancy symptoms, that me and my boyfriend both sort of said I must be pregnant. I took 3 pregnancy tests, all came back negative, but they were all before the day of my missed period.

Then, two days ago, (two days before it was due) I started my period, it was heavier and different than usual. Since I was so convinced I was pregnant, I thought it must be an early miscarriage. I went to the hospital to get checked out, and they gave me a pregnancy test: negative. So I started accepting that I hadn't been pregnant all along. But that doesn't explain the symptoms, why my boobs are suddenly bigger (not complaining) and why I keep nearly taking my boyfriend's head off when he annoys me! Also, my period has lasted a hell of a shorter time than it usually does, only 1-2 days when it usually only lasts 5-7 days.

Anyone have a clue what could be going on here? Thanks.

Have you recently come off the pill or are you trying again after a recent pregnancy or miscarriage? Both can mess with your hormones for some months after. If you've only had negative tests you have no concrete reason to assume you've had a chemical pregnancy so I would try not to worry about it if I were you. Hormonal stuff does not always indicate pregnancy, and symptoms often seem more severe when you are looking out for them if you see what I mean.

If you continue to be convinced that you are pregnant then a return trip to the doctors for a blood test is advisable.

I haven't been on the pill for a long time and have never been pregnant before.

I'm more erring on the side of not being pregnant, but the short period has really confused me. If anything else crops up I will visit the doctor.

Thanks for your reply.

If I remember right you are quite young? I had some changes in my cycle around that age, periods became a bit less heavy and painful. If there is nothing wrong otherwise consider a short period to be a blessing and better luck next month!

Your body is in tune with what you're feeling. So it is entirely likely that as soon as you started TTC, it decided to mess you about! Mine did, and many other people on here will say the same thing. Longer or shorter cycles, etc.

Like Kat said, you find the symptoms when you look for them. Sore boobs are common before a period anyway. You may have been fighting a virus, with the feeling dizzy, etc.

Relax and let your body do it's thing.

Good luck

Thank you for the replies. What are the possibilities along with the very short period that I could still be pregnant, and I'm just one of those fussy women who don't show up on urine tests for a while?

Thanks!

TBH I think you're clutching at straws....nothing has shown up on a HPT and you have had your period, even if it wasn't exactly like other ones.

Wait for next month, I'd say.

Kazine · 26/11/2010 18:28

Yeah I know I'm clutching at straws. Haha, just trying to remain hopeful due to all the symptoms I had (boobs have grown and everything!)
