Ladies from Vol4 - welcome to our new home.

OP posts:
aMuminwaiting · 10/03/2011 09:38

Well my GP said if I had a faint positive then she was pretty convinced I was pregnant despite the two negatives. But then I said doesn't the cyclogest you said to take last week sometimes stop periods? And suddenly she wasn't so sure. I have to do another test on Monday and if that's negative I need to stop the cyclogest and wait some more for my period to show. Wonder if I'll be able to start trying again this year!

littlefan · 10/03/2011 10:13

Only just caught up with the chatter here. Thank you so much for all your supportive messages (and the tips!).
Feeling much better - although really confused. AF appeared yesterday - which brought my cycle to a really abrupt end - at least 10 days early (only 26 days usually 35-38)???! Monitor didn't peak or flash m at me. No idea where this period came from but it explains my massive blow out with husband on Sunday!
Back to the drawing board I guess. Really thought we had a chance of success this month.
Making doctors appointments in the next week - want to get things moving.

Thanks again ladies....

StormBird · 10/03/2011 12:51

Hello Everyone,

Its beena weew hile since I posted on this thread as I have no internet at home at the mo so I am deperately trying to catch up with the goings on but still lurking as ever and hoping that you will all get your BFP's soon.

Just thought I'd pop on and let you all know that we had our 22 week scan on Monday and all is well. Our little bean has grown into a very healthy little Baby Boy. We're so happy.

Now I must get back to reading your posts, I am sooo out of the loop.

Big Hugs.

XXXX

boba82 · 10/03/2011 13:55

MiniH and SBC get SWI!!! Wink

amum sorry to hear that. I hope you end up with a BFP.

littlefan sorry AF got you.

Has anyone on here had experience of using cyclogest progesterone pesseries? Because I thought I was pregnant my GP said I should start using them straight away but they have seriously effected my mood. My temper is so short my poor DH leaves me to it to avoid being killed. I've never felt out of control of my emotions but I've felt rage like never before. After another BFN I've decided not to wait until Monday like my GP said but stop them now so I can hopefully get my period and be able to start charting. It's CD 49 now, stupidly long cycle. The sanitary towels in the bathroom cupboard must be covered in cobwebs by now!

littlefan · 11/03/2011 17:46

Well got the ball rolling with the doctor today. One blood test down - many more to come no doubt!

Anyone else got lucky yet??? Glass of wine for me tonight....WineWineWine

have a nice weekend ladies.

aMuminwaiting - sorry no knowledge of pessaries, but perhaps if they affected you like that next time you see your dr to tell them?

littlefan - great you have had one test so quickly, are you now waiting to have the others?

KC - how has your new job gone? Well I hope!

Today the tiredness hit me, had accupuncture and the lady told me to go straight home and to bed! Nice to be told to do that otherwise would have felt had to do lots, and was shattered for some reason. So had a lovely nap and now an early night!!

boba82 · 12/03/2011 12:10

amum hope AF turns up soon so you can start trying again.

littlefan what test did you have at docs? It's a good feeling to get things moving isn't it? It gets some control back for you. Enjoy your Wine!

Keziah glad you followed advice and rested. How did the scan go? I left you a wee message on the other side too Wink

aMuminwaiting · 12/03/2011 15:55

Hi Boba, well your hope came true. I stopped the pessaries last night and my AF started a couple of hours ago. I thought I'd be really upset but I'm actually so relieved I'm happy! Now I can reset the monitor and start again. And stop spending money on pregnancy tests so the bank will be happy too.
I hope this time I get a proper ovulation day and not a 50 day cycle!!!
Good luck to everyone else.
PS I won't be using the clearblue + test again. I can't take the disappointment of it being wrong again.

tillydream · 12/03/2011 17:17

chocciechip I have a question if you don't mind. I think you said in a previous post that you had tried for a year without a bfp. Were you using the cbfm for that year? Just wondering as a bit 'low' on pma reserves today?

Many thanks

Tilly

Hi everybody,

I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing your thread!

I'm on my first cycle of TTC and using the cbfm.

Hope you'll let me join you lovely ladies x

boba82 · 13/03/2011 09:28

Keziah so excited for you, hope the scan shows plenty more tomorrow!

Welcome scoobielou this thread is very supportive but hopefully you'll strike lucky in the next few cycles.

MiniH · 13/03/2011 10:32

I think AF is imminent, which I'm ok about. I'd obviously much rather have a bfp but as I definitely ov this month that's at least a good start. Am a bit concerned about my cycle suddenly getting so long as was clockwork pre-pill but am going to wait one more cycle to see whether was a one off before going to dr (will also bring me to 12 months ttc so fits well). Kind of looking forward to resetting monitor now.

Good luck to everyone

chocciechip · 13/03/2011 12:20

tilly I've used the CBFM for over two years. In the first year I got a BFP in the second month of trying, which ended in a MMC a couple of months later. We had another BFP 8 months later (again, second month of tryng), which ended in an early MC/possible ectopic. I hadn't used anything except the CBFM throughout this time. I then had 13 months before the 3rd BFP which is still (fingers crossed) viable. We had been lulled into a false sense of our own fertility because of the two quick results the previous year, and panic set in very fast, with me trying ever god-forsaken 'odds-improver' going based on nothing more than public opinion and not much real evidence. I was almost making myself sick with despair, and charting the whole way through too. I plateaued out after about 10months of still no BFP into a sense of dull miserable resignation and 'what will be will be' and cut out all the 'remedies' and stuck to diet, vitamins, and light exercise. A frank honest talk with a consultant helped get my head straight and me to 'get real'. When we got our third BFP a few months later, all I was using was the CBFM - I'd also stopped charting in that month. So I swear by the CBFM.

amum I was wishing for a different result for you, but am glad AF has finally arrived and you're at the starting gate again. Avoiding early testing is one of the hardest things to do when TTC, but having had one experience similar to yours, I genuinely think its healthier for the heart and soul to not test early. I am sorry for the heartache and dissappointment you've had. It's awful.

Hey guys,

Just popped by to catch up and see how everyone is doing.

Keziah I think the date for my stats is 21st although its still early days for us and I'm yet to have my appt for blood tests etc. Good luck from me too!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 14/03/2011 19:55

Hi duffegg. The first month you may not get a peak at all, as the machine is getting used to you, so best advice is keep SWI every other day this cycle - carry on with charting if you do it.

I am on my 3rd cycle on the monitor and it has given me my first peaks this month (I have had hormone/pcos issues though so not typical)

Have you been doing OPKs or BBT charting, or just the EWCM checking? It may be that you don't ovulate at day 14, very few of us seem to!
