By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

hehehehehe That's one way to get a response. 3 of us in one mass x-post Grin

JosieSmith1 · 06/01/2011 16:13

Ok so now I'm excited for BB, and have been googling (blush) very early symptoms. It says cramping, sleep disturbances and frequent urination (amongst others). So I have been cramping since about Monday, slept very very badly last night, couldn't say why, tossed and turned all night, and I have been to the toilet 4 times (usual is about 1-2). I am going to be crushed if ERTD arrives tomorrow

(Shouts) BB where are yoooooo!!!!!!!!!

NervousNelly · 06/01/2011 16:17

Bloody hell BB. Have just picked myself off the floor. Shock.

Vallina you laugh now ... Wink.

Off to make a cup of tea to calm down :)

NervousNelly · 06/01/2011 16:25

Aww Josie believe it or not I'm jealous of your going nuts :). I'm sure ERTD is on it's way and what with the bad moods and the smearing I refuse to get my hopes up. Whereas you are at least getting to imagine (although I'm sure it's all completely factual and you will in fact be up-duffed) Grin.

BB just thinking, I read somewhere that twins is more common as you get older, as your body more frequently releases multiple eggs. Which worries me now, as I'm only a tiny bit younger than you. Still, only one lot of labour Hmm. Come on already, share the scan story Grin.

NervousNelly · 06/01/2011 16:28

Twins are more common, even?

Sheesh.

crowette · 06/01/2011 17:18

Oh blimey BB!!

And sshhh nelly about twins being more common as you get older - I'm nearly 39!

TTL we do indeed have total privacy! Even though it's a flat, it's a purpose built one with lovely thick walls and our bedroom isn't next to any neightbours, is on the corner. No more stealth shagging for us (apart from when our girls stay over) and we made the most of that last night Grin

SingingMog · 06/01/2011 17:53

Yay for non-stealth at last crowette!

BB OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shock

Don't know how you are managing to keep shagging, I think I'm 5+1 (if that is the right terminology) and boobs are so sore (although cramps are now less in number) that I wouldn't be able to bounce about or be jigged up and down at all. Being driven home on a bumpy road hurt the boobage today! Hope it goes away soon. Fancy some JSing without intent Grin.

Oh and Josie I am cheering for you, fingers still crossed.

takethatlady · 06/01/2011 18:27

bb it's obviously all that shagging you've been doing - you've doubled up on all your quantities Grin

josie you are nuts but it sounds hopeful Wink

Right, off to be pampered by a sweetly concerned DH who is trying to cook me meatballs and spaghetti a la Lady and the Tramp ... but will check in later as I want the twin news!

takethatlady · 06/01/2011 18:28

PS - mog, yay for loud, feisty, uninhibited shagging! Make the most of it!

Miffles · 06/01/2011 18:35

Whoop whoop BB!!! There's that clomid for you...you were obviously the 1 in 10!! I am really pleased that you were able to come to terms with the shock of pg before you were hit with this little beauty. Don't go hiding - although we're teasing you, I can imagine it must be a real shock to the system and lots to get your head around. Bless you!!

Nelly and Crow - I wouldn't worry too much...the clomid raises chance of twins from 1 in 80 to 1 in 10. So I'm sure that has far more to do with it in BB case than age.

Josie - sounds like you have the madness good and proper!! How honest with your DH are you being? I wasn't sure whether, when I was convinced, to be cool with him and then just surprise him with a postive test (ha ha) or make him go through the traumas and stress with me. Went for the latter. Meant that he thought I was a complete headcase, but at least he was super sympathetic when it was another negative. You're testing tomorrow aren't you?

Nelly - I think I'd almost rather know it's ERTD on its way than go through what josie is...totally does your head in!

With all this shag talk, you'll be pleased to know we did our first of this months. Did it last night instead of this morning, as have been sleeping so badly. But the CD9/10 shag is really to get things moving and fresh for CD12 and CD14, IYSWIM!! Anyway, was more fun on the sofa downstairs on the spur of the moment. :)

Looking forward to hearing the rest of the news from BB

JosieSmith1 · 06/01/2011 19:12

Miffles ERTD is due tomorrow but has been a day late before so I'm going to try and hold out until sunday before testing. I told DH but he asked me not to get his hopes up as we'll both be devastated if it isn't true again. When I get nervous the red veins on my hands stick out, they've been out the past couple of days. I can't stop thinking about it!

Sorry you know ERTD is on the way Nelly, but there's always next month, I know that's not much of a comfort (hugs)

Alien how did your meeting go?

Enjoy your evening TTL, and try not to get spaghetti sauce everywhere!

As scared as I would be of having twins, I agree that one labour and 2 babies sounds better than two labours and two babies Grin. I want more than one child so twins would be an almost perfect solution Grin

Miffles · 06/01/2011 19:26

Oh Josie - I know just what you mean. It's on your mind the whole time. I just try to keep super busy. I prefer waiting for AF to actually arrive, but then when it's late I get my hopes up even more. Wouldn't let my DH off the stress hook though - they can turn off their hopes much more, it seems!!

Also think twins would be kinda cool...

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 06/01/2011 19:49

Josie - have you been cheating on us with another thread . Wink.

Miffles - thanks for the Clomid news, I didn't know that! I feel better. Not much comfort to poor BB now though Shock. Like you say though, ignore us BB and come back for some tea and sympathy and also excited hugs.

Not sure actually about the one labour vs two. Now I think some more about it, it means one maternity leave vs two Hmm. OK so I'm back to my original plan of just one at a time (because of course we all know this all goes so swimmingly to plan).

Welcome back to crow by the way, here's to lots of Loud headboard-banging shagging Grin.

Dynababy · 06/01/2011 21:04

Poor you TTL with red blood, hope you get the all OK soon and this stops for you, even if not harmful its doing nothing for yur stress levels!

BB Shock but Grin!!! I hope your OK, cant even have a stiff drink for the shock!

Truffkin · 06/01/2011 23:16

Loving the OMGtwinz news! I'd love double trouble as we could stop there with our perfect 2.4 family Wink

TTL hugs sweet cheeks, hope you're and managing to chill

to everyone, will be back properly tomorrow to catch up.

JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 08:19

Oops, yes she's on another thread Blush. Would never cheat on you girlies though Grin

TTL how's things looking today?

Have thought some more about twins and as it also means twice the expense, maybe it's not such a good idea anymore Grin

No sign of ERTD yet but my temps have dropped (hangs head in the shame of admitting to temping ocassionally). I haven't been following my temps but have done them a couple of times this week and they've been high, went right down today. So now I'm sitting at my desk feeling very much like telling everyone to f* off and going home to cry. Instead, I am going to have a cup of tea, then send an apology text to DH for throwing a hissy fit at him this morning because he left some money on a pizza box and I couldn't possibly move it with his money on top Blush

Will drown my sorrows tonight. Oh, and I have decided that if I ever think I'm pg, I'm going to tell DH aaaaalllll about it so he can be as excited as me, then as dashed when it doesn't happen. Why should I bear it all.

Miffles · 07/01/2011 09:00

Truff - have you got 0.4 of a child already?? Is that how it works, that if you had twins you have 2.4??!!! Or am I being pedantic?! Grin

TTL I'm sorry, in my excitement over BB I didn't comment on your predicament. You must be so worried. I really hope that this morning brings no new blood. Forget about making a nusiance of yourself and if it keeps going, take yourself off to A&E/EPU. And pray you get a more sympathetic nurse!!

Josie - sorry to hear temps dropped. (Loved the hanging head in shame, by the way...are you sure you're a JSer? After all none of us interfere in the natural baby making AT ALL!!) Not over til the red lady sings, but prob best to prepare yourself. And yes, why should you bear it all....DH's must go through this rollercoaster with us!

Quiet day at the office today, so PLEASE viroids, come and keep me company.

We could play a game..... Hmm

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 07/01/2011 09:40

Morning viroids!

TTL how are you doing? I'm not surprised you can't stop worrying. Some women bleed thoughout pregnancy etc. But that's just "blah" isn't it? Wink Hope things have settled down.

Josie you could compromise by telling everyone to fuck off then making yourself a cup of tea? Grin Sorry temps have dropped. I temped and I have to say it helped me feel more in control.

So twins then! Our NHS scan is next week, but the MW told me that my PCT don't do Downs testing until about week 20 Hmm so I booked us in for a private nucal scan. (I love private care Blush) Within seconds the doc said "twins". DH had already spotted it as he's seen loads of scans in cows before. Hmm and Hmm again for good measure!! It's a good job I was laying down! DH was beaming from ear to ear like a cheshire cat!! It took over an hour to get the 2 measurements for both twins, but we also found out that the risk of downs etc was very low. Good news considering I'm an old git.

To put other old gits at rest, these twins are down to the clomid Grin

Actually feeling quite positive about it all. Although maybe it's not sunk in yet Grin

Miffles · 07/01/2011 09:59

Yay for positivity BB. It must help having a grinning DH. We think we'd be happy with twins too. TBH, it would remove the stress of having to do all of this again, as don't really want a single child.

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 10:26

That's great BB, so glad you and DH are both really happy, and good news about low risk of downs.

Miffles I of course have only broken the rules inr egards to temping. I in no other way interfere with the baby making...HmmGrin

vallinnapod · 07/01/2011 10:32

Fab news BB - PMSL that your DH was way ahead of you due to his bovine expereinces Grin

crowette · 07/01/2011 11:37

Yay!! So pleased you're happy with the twin new BB

I mentioned it to my OH and how it was said that twins could be possible in older mothers - he looked faint and said he could do one baby, but two would freak him out - really shook him, bless! I soon assured him that it was very unlikely to happen to us and made him a strong cup of Earl Grey tea ... he 'joked' about giving one away free to a good home if it happened to us, lol!

TTL I hope everything has settled down for you now.

I have to admit to attempting to temp at times, but I wake up a different times every day so it was pointless ... and as for setting the alarm so I can take it and then doze - it doesn't work, once I'm awake, I'm awake Hmm

I'm taking a break form painting at the moment - did the bedroom and hallway ceilings yesterday and remembered why I hate doing ceilings! I got up and made a start on the second coats and the lounge ceiling before even having a coffee ... then felt icky (due to having no drink or brekkie!) so had to stop. I may or may not get around to painting the coving today.

Miffles · 07/01/2011 11:41

Oh, Crow you have just reminded me what my dad said. Since he knows we're having problems conceiving, but my sister not, he suggested that if she had twins, she could give one to us!! Shock

We were less than impressed, cos he was kind of serious Hmm

Don't go OTT on the painting - slow but sure. And definitely ventilate and eat!

OP posts:
crowette · 07/01/2011 13:06

Ha Miffles sounds like the sort of thing my dad would say! He's rather tactless at times.

I've given up on the painting - am too short to do it neatly without steps. My makeshift ones just broke and OH would kill me if he found out how I was doing it Blush (if the fall didn't!)

I shall have to go on the beg for some steps from my dad Hmm

So I'm making the most of my time off work and treating it as the holiday it's supposed to be, and doing as OH suggested - sitting around doing nothing other than reading, internet, DVDs and drinking tea. And not feeling guitly about it Grin

JosieSmith1 · 07/01/2011 13:32

Crow that sounds like a fab holiday! I used to cram everything into my hols - decorating, gutting the house, clearing out cupboards etc but when I've been off over xmas I've literally just watched telly, played on the computer and did whatever I liked. I haven't had any ironed clothes this week as I did no ironing so suffering the effects now but I don't care, I really needed a complete rest and it did the trick!

Told DH about my temp going down, he was a bit miffed buthe knows better than to coddle me so he let it go. Had lunch at the pub and it wasn't very nice, and took ages. Good job I have plenty of biscuits to keep me going this afternoon Grin
