By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

Miffles · 19/11/2010 17:18

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Hope you have managed a lovely hot shower nomore - like the name change!!

Has anyone read this thread? I think it's interesting. OH and I haven't discussed this in any detail (don't want to jinx things maybe?) but I don't think we'll be so confident as to say "no co-sleeping" for example - whatever works I say! We do have a general life philosophy that goes something like "Love your children with all your heart, but don't be defined by them". So we'll try to keep up our crazy sports as best as we can Xmas Grin. I am going to try for the "No Nappy sniffing" one though - as a non-parent that freaks me out Xmas Shock even though I realise it will happen to me too Xmas Hmm

Anyone else given this any thought - what about those already with a baybeee? :)

(Am bored, have given up trying to work as cat keeps curling up on work laptop, already managed to switch it off 2 minutes before I was due to dial in to an audio Hmm)

vallinnapod · 07/12/2010 19:04

NMCB love the name change (but clearly refuse to adopt it!!)

Miffs never got to OPK stage as ovaries uncooperative but that is what I would have been told to do.

I now have 2 and 2 in terms of larger follicles. They are feeling very smug that they have warranted such greetings Grin I hope they pass this on to their neighbours! Back tomorrow...seriously don't have a vein left...

escapeartist · 07/12/2010 19:36

Argh... Having a down-day all round. Which is probably only just because AF is coming tomorrow (CD34, making my cycle longer than normal 31 again this month!)

Have been up since 6 and just got back from supermarket. Feeling down in the dumps as it's my birthday tomorrow and it's my first birthday without my dad around :( Also, I thought I would be up the duff by now, but no such luck.

(And it def is not because I am turning 30, as I really could not give a rat's about that... but DH is convinced that's why I am down)

Need a kick up the behind and to keep positive about this new cycle being THE ONE! (Has anyone else read anywhere that more babies are conceived in December than any other month, or is it just bs? I know... clutching at straws. Also, the scientist in me: does that correspond with a rise of births in September?)

SleepyCaz · 07/12/2010 20:08

Hi Viros!

Hope all's going well. Not been on for ages due to overtime, excessive Christmas stuff at DS's school and trying to get the shopping done.

Can't remember how I updated, but basically, had a BFP, but it was query ectopic, so my HCG levels were done every 48 hours for a week, then an internal scan, then more bloods 7 days later.

Anyway, HCG levels shot up to 1351, and follow-up scan showed a pregnancy of 4 weeks and 5 days, and in the right place, but with no heartbeat. However, the Sister at the EPAC said they wouldn't be able to see one anyway, and booked me for ANOTHER scan at 7 week, which is next Tue.

BUT... Have had brown spotting/bleeding and cramps all day today and last night. Getting darker now. Called EPAC and they just said to sit it out and come next week as planned.

Have had 2 MC's before and feel ready for the worst, but still gutted as really thought things were looking good.

Please cross your fingers for me.

Am sorry to have been a crap Viroid and PROMISE to read the thread.

Bye ladies.

Lots of love

takethatlady · 07/12/2010 20:19

escape I hope your birthday shag gets you upduffed Xmas Smile. No idea about December upduffings but whatever works, I say!

Yay for hot water nmcb - you are a trooper.

nervous I followed your link to that thread. We have no rules or expectations about how to do parenting. We generally pull this face Xmas Shock when we think about it and leave it at that Xmas Grin

DH's mum and dad seriously brought up four children (born 1982, 1984, 1984 (twins) and 1987) without shouting. I think DH's dad shouted at him once because DH punched one of his sisters in the face (don't worry, he was about 6) and DH is still so ashamed Xmas Grin. Their house is so calm and amazing. I don't know how they did it.

My mum, on the other hand, was a mentalist of the Xmas Angry variety, and my dad is pretty violent! I'll settle for somewhere in between ...

takethatlady · 07/12/2010 20:20

Sorry sleepycaz cross post.

Don't lose heart yet - I know it's good to be mentally prepared for these things - but lots of people bleed and it's okay, and like the doc said, it's too early for a heartbeat. Got all my fingers and toes crossed for you.

vallinnapod · 07/12/2010 20:56

Fingers crossed Sleepy - resilient things us humans! xxx

SingingMog · 07/12/2010 21:43

Just got in from work and cat sitting on right arm, so can't type much! Had bit of shite day generally, but reading thread makes me feel warm and cosy inside Xmas Smile.

Hope all is fine for you sleepycaz .

The half an animal in photos is cat jumping in air Smile.

LOL at many things (like practise POASing) and gah at others (like no water).

Am now thinking there's no way I'll manage to avoid tcc this month. Will still want to POAS anyway. It would be waste of eggling not to have a sly go!

Right off now as v hard and painful to type with one arm in funny position due to catboy.

SnowMiffles · 07/12/2010 22:04

A quickie (DH thinks I'm on here too much Xmas Shock) Got our Christmas tree up whilst listening to Maria. Ah, the traditions!!

Love and hugs to Sleepy. Hope you're bearing up and coping.

Wave to the rest of you and see you tomorrow!

xx

[fbear] Xmas Grin

SnowMiffles · 07/12/2010 22:05

(Mariah, as in Carey. Not Maria as in von Trapp Hmm)

cremegg · 08/12/2010 10:36

hey all, havent been on for ages, end of school year madness (combined with v hot weather ;) Don't worry not rubbing it in, will be freezing bits off in UK in 10 days!

have read most of thread, but cant remember everything, lots happening!

loving all the cat action, mine have been crazy this eve, keeping running in and out of house with bits of tree and spider Hmm web attached to them.

hi to noobs

YAY to milano huge congrats! how far along are you?

no ms here, but boobs still sore and feel v prominent! also been v tired (must admit to occasional nap after school before pg but now nearly everyday!)

will try best to keep up now Blush

nomore sending you virtual burger rings :) cant believe the conditions 'oooop there, baltic!!

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 08/12/2010 11:29

morning viroids!
nothing new to report, but just been catching up on all your news.
Snow you can't be on here too much! that's impossible! Xmas Grin

ttl i don't hink there was any shouting in DH's family, either - he's incredibly calm and quiet - it's so hard to get him to shout even above the traffic! Hmm

takethatlady · 08/12/2010 11:42

nickel I'm not very shouty at all and really hate confrontation or arguments, but just once in a while I find myself shouting at DH for never shouting and making me feel like a shouty nutcase Xmas Grin

Usually he does this: Xmas Confused, which is even more infuriating if I am feeling this Xmas Angry Xmas Grin

Really starting to worry about bb now ...

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 08/12/2010 12:50
Xmas Grin

where's BB ?
she hasn't posted for a week.
her last post said the spotting had gone, so fingers crossed it's all okay.

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 08/12/2010 12:52

found her - she's only posted once since last wed - on a cleaning thread today.

milanomum · 08/12/2010 13:33

sleepycaz fingers crossed for you. Hope things go ok.

Nelly there's no point in making vows... Apart from the basic stuff (like saying 'no' when necessary or 'making' a screaming child sit in the buggy) - There will defo be co-sleeping at some point, even if it's just for a few days because otherwise you might put the baby in the washing machine by accident. But then, when you do co.-sleep you wake up frantic because you think the child is under the covers at the foot of the bed and then you realise he/she is actually in cot where you can't remember putting him/her. Confused

BB wherrreeeee arrreee yououououo?

cremegg I'm actually almost 6 weeks. Nothing like a bit of late POASing!

vallinnapod · 08/12/2010 14:47

Afternoon all,

Slow progress here but progressing none the less. Very sore arm from blood tests. Got a bit weepy about it today, and apprehensive for tomorrow. :(

Cremegg do you have any virtual Cherry Ripes back there Grin

takethatlady · 08/12/2010 15:19

What is a Cherry Ripe? Here vallinna, have one anyway :)

Sorry you are feeling weepy hun, you will get there. Have a virtual Cadbury's Flake and a virtual ticket for a lovely relaxing needle-free spa.

I have downloaded a virus onto DH's computer - 'internet security suite' or something - and I can't get rid of it. He is not going to be happy, especially when he finds out I googled 'chance of miscarriage 11 + 2' and then clicked on a link that said 'I am 11 2 and I am also pregnant ...'

Oh dear Xmas Blush

NoMoreSnowPlease · 08/12/2010 16:30

Sad[grumpy]ConfusedAngryBiscuit[balling eyes out][helpless] It's nothing viroid/baby related, I just hate my life and living situation right now.

SleepyCaz I was thinking of you yesterday, thinking you hadn't been around in a while. It's good to hear from you, even if things are very uncertain right now. Obviously I want you to make it to that scan and see a healty baby, but what ever happens we're all here for you.

Ergh, Cherry Ripe, now those are definately an Australian thing! If I remember correctly TTL they are a bit like a cherry flavoured bounty bar, rolled flat. Thanks for the burger rings though Cremegg!Grin

NervousNelly · 08/12/2010 16:34

Violet Crumbles for me please Cremegg Xmas Grin.

TTL - I am nervous (no name-pun intended) about posting next to you. Is your virus catchable just by rubbing up against you - like the sex-ed classes at school telling us how NOT to get up-duffed Wink. My OH isn't particularly shouty either (Damn) but strangely I'm the only person that does make him shout Xmas Grin.

Vallina I am not surprised you are tearful. I hate needles at the best of times. Have a hug (and one of those Cherry Ripes Xmas Confused).

BB we've saved you a lovely comfy spot. Hope all is ok - we miss you :)

Mariah Carey Miffles??? - Xmas Angry. How could you????

A couple of days till ERTD due. No sign so far, though I've had a couple of VERY brief tummy pinges (is that a word?) so that could be the first sign. Have refrained from POAS mainly because, when I first get up in the morning, all I can think is "oh god please let it not have snowed again, let the water be running and the roof not have caved in on the barn and let me not fall over and land on my arse on the ice". I then forget to POAS and by then it's too late. Plus, we can't use the upstairs loo right now and that's where the Gu Ramekin is kept Xmas Wink.

vallinnapod · 08/12/2010 18:47

PMSL TTL - Shock at the random preggo 11 yr olds!

A Cherry Ripe is basically like a cherry flavoured Bounty, covered in dark chocolate and sold in Ozland. Sounds gross and I am sure if they did them over here (at prices that didn't require a mortgage!) then I wouldn't like them so much ut I have a very romanticised view of them thanks to visits to Oz and Aussie friends :)

NMCB :( huge huggles. I know the feeling. Nothing feels like it's going right but it will pass. It just feels like a black hole at the mo xxxx

Was meant to be at Acupuncture tonight, which I find reall relaxing and not at all painful but the thought of more needles made me postpone to Saturday :(

takethatlady · 08/12/2010 18:56

Don't be nervous nervous I called a nice man at BT who invaded DH's computer and sorted it out. It was taking ages so he told me to put the phone down and he would type something on Notepad to tell me when he was ready for me to check at my end.

Waited for about half an hour, watching Weakest Link, DH came in and we both fell asleep. When we woke up 30 mins later the computer was all re-booted and virus free but no message from computer guy. Only when I actually started doing things on the computer did he call up ... no idea if I left him hanging for half an hour!

Cherry Ripes sound both disgusting and like a bad sex euphemism. Urrrgh! Burger ring on the other hand ...

Oh nmcb have any snack of your choosing. Really sorry you're feeling so down. Whatever it is you seem like one strong viroid to me and I'm sure you'll pull through. Hope at least that your hot water is back on and you can have a nice (not too hot) bath, maybe a cheeky half a glass of wine, and bawl your eyes out until you feel a bit better. Lots of hugs ... Sad and Smile

SnowMiffles · 08/12/2010 19:03

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ESCAPE!!!!! Grin Grin

Hope you've had a more cheerful day. What have you done to make yourself feel special? It must be hard without your dad. Has AF arrived yet?

Good to hear back from Cremegg. Glad all going well with you. TTL will be very jealous at your lack of ms, I'm sure. She's be spewing for the lot of us!! Xmas Grin

Vallinna - maybe ask DH for a massage. Or at the least a hot bath with candles and a glass of wine. Can totally understand not wanting more needles Xmas Confused

to NMCB - some days are down days. Some are up days. Don't worry too much about the down ones, cos an up one will be coming along soon. xx

Morning shag was a success, so have completed doctors orders Xmas Smile Will put another one in on Friday to be sure. Reckon I will use OPKs next month, as I want to JS every day to cover bases, but not the best thing for DH.

And Nelly - what is so wrong with a bit of Mariah Carey?! Xmas Shock I love her "All I want for Christmas". Makes me feel so Christmassy!! Xmas Grin

takethatlady · 08/12/2010 19:10

miffles well done on the prescription shagging Xmas Grin. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ESCAPE! How rude of me to forget. Hope you're off getting your birthday shag in ...

miffles it's sadly a spew-free zone in my house at the moment. Apart from a bit of mozzarella on Monday night and a bit of bile this morning, I have barely been sick for days, and I like food again Xmas Sad. Don't have a bump, barely have a gag, worried I no longer have a baby! Xmas Shock

SnowMiffles · 08/12/2010 19:11

STOP IT. NOW. You have a little baby growing in you. Quit it with the worrying!!!! Xmas Wink
