How accurate are Boots HPTs?

Here is the back story:

I normally have a regular 27 day cycle and according to my calendar I should have seen AF on 16/11. I tested using Boots own brand HPT on the first I AF had not arrived. Since then AF still has not arrived and I tested this morning, again with Boots HPT. I?ve used Boots own brand earlier this year and got a +ve and they say on the box it 99% accurate.

I am average weight and height and have no medical conditions (that I know of) that could cause me to miss a period. So, the question I?m asking is- can the test be wrong?

How confusing QOTCW! Confused

Sorry you've got a BFN still and no AF.

TBH I don't think the test is wrong, but to make sure you ought to try with a diff brand, just in case you got a duff one.

You could have ov'd later than you thought this month, or you could have had an annovulatory cycle - which I understand are relatively common.

Hope you get an answer either way soon.

Agree it's confusing Confused

Have TBH too and say at this stage the test is more likely to be right than wrong. There are some stats on here somewhere about the increasing accuracy of tests as you get towards the end of your cycle and so the test should be pretty accurate for you if AF was due on 16/11. I have a pretty regular cycle and am average weight etc. but was 4 days late the other month. It wasn't a CP as I kept getting BFNs. I presume I just ov'd a few days late that month.

Sorry not to be more positive - just don't want to build up hopes. Though obviously there is always a possibly of a BFP when AF hasn't arrived Smile

Agree with GetDown that it's worth trying with another brand and do hope that you get an answer soon.
