Make yourselves at home everyone. Jake & George are just loading everyone's 'baggage'! Wink

100 sorry to you are feeling so tired

i am dreading that bit.... am only 4&1/2 weeks at the moment but have a feeling in the nexy week / 10 days exhastion and sickness could really kick in.

have just had a good hours nap, but wondering how im going to cope with 19 little 3 / 4 year olds for most of the day for the next 6 weeks, AND all their observations and paper work etc...

bebe lol at your posts!

MrsSatsuma · 07/01/2011 16:57

Ooh I missed George and Jake the first time... does while away the hours until ovulation!! (Oh dear, how desperate does that make me sound?!)

Glad you got some sleep 100 - and nannyl, I'd just do what your body tells you. Having said that, when/if I ever get pg lord knows how I'll cope with 400 sulky teenagers a week!

Work situation getting complicated - yet another has announced she's pg! :) but also Envy So that makes 3 on maternity leave at the moment, 1 going next week, and 2 going in summer. If I do get pg it'll be old news, and possibly irritate a few people... not that that will stop me because it's my life ;)

Quod - good idea for bebe! If he's not feeling great perhaps there's more chance he won't be thinking about work, and you might get him to focus on it more. Good luck bebe!

AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 18:15

What's all this Jake business? I always thought George and Jake were imaginary blokes more eunuch than Chippendale! I am so naive!

I am starting to think it should be against the law not to discuss ttc with your DW! What are these bloody men playing at being all passive aggressive all the time and then saying "ooh don't throw away the cot!" Bebe I think we should all come to your house with pitchforks and demand answers have a talk with him!

AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 18:16

What is the Gruffalo? It sounds interesting. Perhaps we could get a pet one for the train?

AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 18:21

And another thing, if that's Jake, who is George??

Quodlibet · 07/01/2011 18:52

PS I'm with you on the passing of the law; mine is currently using 'I need some time to think it all over on my own' as the get-out line from conversations about TTC that HE has started ConfusedAngry

AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 19:06

The Gruffalo website doesn't open on my phone. Is it a flash site or something? Have googled though and was most charmed by the pictures!

bebejones · 07/01/2011 19:21

It was originally a book & the BBC did an animation for Christmas 2009. DD loves it! There is a sequel to the book called 'The Gruffalo's child' which is also really cute! Loving the idea of a pet Gruffalo! :o

The other little monster we like in this house is Humf. Very cute (he's the purple one)

Oh the delights of kids tv!! :o

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 07/01/2011 19:31

I think if we got a Humf our Gruffalo might eat him!

bebejones · 07/01/2011 19:32

Yes, the Gruffalo would probably eat him on toast!

Right I'm off for some tapas and a bottle of red with DH, who hasn't had a cigarette all week and deserves a treat!

Look after the Gruffalo!

bebejones · 07/01/2011 20:20

We ended up with Pizza as the chinese was shut, which meant sharing with DD! Hmm She is in bed now, so am about to tackle 'the talk' with DH...again!

MrsSatsuma · 07/01/2011 20:28

Do Gruffaloes like Indian food? We have rather a lot left over after the Friday evening can't-be-bothered-to-cook fest... We have yet to finish a 'meal for one' between us from our local! I may take a leaf out of your book AC and have some wine as I'll be staying off it soon, just in case... and drowning my sorrows as DH doesn't understand at all why I'm a little bit upset that I seem to be the only woman at school not pregnant!

Oh good grief, I'm obsessed Blush

(PS... AC, being a relative newcomer I also thought Jake and George were the friendly porters, until the topless links were posted... I must say it was a nice surprise to find George looking after my baggage!)

nannyl · 07/01/2011 20:34

gruffalos like
scrambled snake, owl ice cream and roasted fox!

good luck bebe

MrsSatsuma · 07/01/2011 20:46

Hmm so not chicken pasanda then. Oh well, all the more for me... :)

AstroZola · 07/01/2011 21:44

Yeah...I'll be waiting a while...you can bet on that...so while we wait can we introduce Ian Somerhalder to our staff ranks please...i think he's the sexiest thing alive...Blush...

I also agree about the law on OH's not talking to their DP's about pregnancy and babies. How long do they need to think about it for god's sake! I know they need or simply want some time to contemplate it but surely a couple of months will do it....why does it have to be so long...i swear my DP is making me wait on purpose...probably hoping i'll grow out of this wanting a baby phase...it sucks man!! Angry

AmandaCooper · 08/01/2011 08:39

Typically men aren't supposed to be into talking about their problems/feelings/decisions, they're supposedly into sitting on a rock with their own thoughts. I know it's all stereotypes and that - but you don't see a DadsNet website with thousands of men who aren't our DPs chatting away about ttc and wanting a baby, do you?

The problem with some of our DPs is that I'm sure they forget to think about it at all!

In other news I seem to be having a textbook cycle this month in terms of fertility signs and this morning (CD15) my temp was up (disclaimer: it may just be all that booze I drank to help DH celebrate not smoking!)

How's everybody?

AmandaCooper · 08/01/2011 08:47

JS blimey I only just spotted your UPS post! Four days before OV is cutting it a bit fine, girl! If you're now certain and before you were a bit dithery then that's a massive milestone and achievement.

I just need to get to that stage myself now and then pull DH down into the rabbit hole with me!

MrsSatsuma · 08/01/2011 12:38

AC I completely agree. Talking to DH today about how stressful I'm finding doing all the research etc (was annoyed as today was first day for taking my temp with new thermometer and completely forgot, grrr) I said I wished we'd started earlier and had done more research on how long it would take, but I was waiting for him to make a decision. DH said he thought I was joking about TTC..... whatever made him think that I really do not know!!! Argh!!!! I did point out that there aren't many women who would joke about something like that (and if they did it would be blatantly obvious). Men!!!!!!

On another note... seeing as we were going through who Jake and George were, can I also ask what IIT stands for on the thread title? [hides face in case tomatoes are hurled for not knowing that!]

MrsSatsuma · 08/01/2011 12:40

Just to clarify, DH thought I was joking when I started mentioning TTC months ago, which is why it took him so long to make a decision. We both agreed to start seriously trying a couple of months ago - he doesn't still think I'm joking!

100years · 08/01/2011 13:18

MrsSatsuma, the thread was originally started for people who were waiting, as the thread has got a bit more established there are people in here who have stopped waiting to TTC and are either TTC or are upduffed, but they(including me) like it in here and we've become a little group in amongst ourselves. The IIT means In It Together as we are all in it together from waiting to babies.

I've had a teeny tiny bit of weird coloured discharge, possibly spotting, there is only a leetle bit of it, but it made me burst into tears last night. It's no worse this morning, and I'm at the docs on monday, so unless anything gets worse I'll mention it then, will get checked out if anything more occurs before then. It's really scary, I have no control over what happens. Not going into work tonight as I'm still feeling real sick and dizzy, even if I'm not puking up so far today.
