Justshagging, it's fine, much as it's not very nice, I know it's the hormones and that makes it worth it.

MrsS, hope you find it soon

strawberrypie · 04/01/2011 17:19

Hi everyone!

well it wasn't much of a 2 ww for me as I have started with what is like a light AF yesterday! My cycles must still be up the spout because of coming off the pill. Has anyone else had cycles as short as this (17 days)? Or could there be another explanation- I've seen stuff about ovulatory bleeding etc but it seems like too much to be that? (sorry for TMI)

Ps Mrs satsuma You are funny being so frightened of a tiny mouse! I would lend you my cat but she is a bit gormless and not a good hunter, the only thing she manages to catch are frogs- she doesn't hurt them but just brings them in so I have to put them back outside!

MrsSatsuma · 04/01/2011 17:51

Well DH hasn't found anything... but I'm convinced there is something there!! Am now a bit scared to go in the kitchen...

Strawberry - I'm a bit rubbish with things that move fast (spiders, frogs...) but I'm most worried about mouse-carried diseases and that fact that they wee and poo everywhere!! As for your cycle, I'd wait another couple of days to see... I suppose it's possible to have a 17 day cycle, and maybe your body is just taking time to readjust after the pill. I was 2 days late a got very hopeful but no such luck :( Not trying to be pessimistic, just know how I felt when my hopes were dashed!!

bebejones · 04/01/2011 18:34

Aww Strawberry that sucks! Could it be an implantation bleed? [Clueless emoticon]

MrsS - You can borrow my Ginger tom, he's a good hunter! Although he would drive you mad in 5mins, he is a little bit 'fiery'...stereotypical redhead! :o
Maybe it was just something falling down inside the bin?

DH hasn't got off the phone since he got home, trying to build myself up to this discussion tonight!

bebe really hope you can talk to your DH as you've been wanting to for ages now. I think it's only fair that he talk things through properly with you, that's not too much to ask.

Amanda am jealous about your parents being nearby to help out with any babies! Mine (and his) are both about 2 hours away in different directions.

nannyl again your organisation puts us all to shame! I haven't even thought about buying anything, or even what I might need to buy.

wyorkslass sorry to hear you're getting bad symptoms now :( I also went off chocolate, between about weeks 7-10, but can eat it again now luckily! It was weird, I normally love chocolate but i just couldn't face eating it.

js that's positive news about moving the holiday forward :) And you'll have a great time in India I'm sure!

100years hope it went well at the docs! Makes it seem a bit more real when you see someone.

mrssatsuma I'm also laughing at the mouse incident... I don't mind mice and even think they're quite cute. They're not so good running round in the kitchen though! Just make sure you have everything sealed up so they can't chew into any packets.

strawberrypie I hope you find an explanation for the bleeding.

I am feeling ok, even though it was the first day back at work today! Didn't go too badly and my boss said I can work from home on Thurs which is the day I have my next scan Grin because it's awkward to get to the hospital from work. I should be about 13 weeks then, so almost in the 2nd trimester. Plus DH has finally filled all the cracks in our nursery spare room so he's going to put the first coat of paint on tonight :)

bebejones · 05/01/2011 09:17

Squirrel - how's the 'spare room' looking? Wink
Good Luck for scan 2moro

I'm off to my mums, going to see Cirque du Soleil in London tonight, am very excited. Leaving DD overnight for the first time which I'm a bit nervous about. Hope she behaves for DH! Hmm

JustShaggingForNow · 05/01/2011 09:25

Squirrel very exciting about the spare room! How does it look? Have you sorted out your colour scheme yet? Hope that the scan tomorrow goes well. Lovely that your boss has given you the day off - you can go and celebrate!!!

bebe so envious of you going to see CDS - I have always wanted to go to that. Looking forward to hearinf all about it!

squirrel007 · 05/01/2011 10:00

The room is now yellow, and looks good so far. Still more painting to do though. We went for quite a bright yellow in the end so it's brighter than I first imagined!

bebe am also jealous! DH and I were thinking of going but haven't booked yet. I saw them a couple of years ago and they were amazing.

jinglebellssantasmells · 05/01/2011 11:11

hi all, just a quick one to say scan went really well was a really nice lady scanning me and got a couple of lovely pics everything looks as it shud be and very healthy

Quodlibet · 05/01/2011 11:31

Ahhh jbells how lovely! Glad it went well.

MrsSatsuma · 05/01/2011 18:15

Hooray for Jinglebells! Never mind, not knowing the sex will keep it exciting and suspenseful for a bit longer...

Squirrel, I think yellow is a lovely colour - good for either gender and nice and cheerful!

Bebe am joining the jealous club! Wanted to see CDS when we went to Las Vegas but waaaaay too expensive (about £100+ per ticket). Hope you enjoy it!

Still no sign of the mouse...

MrsSatsuma · 05/01/2011 18:18

sorry Jingle, I didn't mean it wasn't exciting and suspenseful anyway!!! (Is suspenseful even a word...?!)

JustShaggingForNow · 05/01/2011 18:39

Oh bugger. I ovulated today.....4/5 days earlier than usual. If Saturday night's UPS rests in a BFP I think DH will think I've planned it and I really truly haven't. Eeeeeeeeek! Looks like I may be on for a 2ww this month!!! Reassure me please!

nannyl · 05/01/2011 19:30

JS thats really exciting, good luck on your 2WW Smile

Jingle lovely to hear about your scan, makes me jelouse and cant wait for mine

mrssatsuma hope your mice have gone.

Told my 2 other teachers at work today, as they sort of need to know. they were both over the moon for me so that was nice, and can work out how i can have a midwife appt without even needing to arrange cover, so dont need to explain why Grin

am now banned from heavy lifting and moving furniture (and unloading / loading the spidery shed Smile

squirrel007 · 05/01/2011 21:37

jbells glad the scan went well, did you want to know whether it's a boy or a girl? I want to know, but DH thinks it's best to not find out! Not sure what we'll do yet.

js fingers crossed for you with the surprise 2ww. Am sure if you talk to your DH he will be understanding. I think that jbells is right in that it's only a small risk from Saturday to today.

nannyl exhaustion was one of my earliest symptoms! A few weeks ago I could seriously have gone to bed at 8 every evening. Now it's wearing off and I can stay up till closer to 10.

whywait and jbells I love the idea of a yellow nursery :) That lemon tropics colour was one of our testers, but in the end we went with one that was a shade or two brighter (the room is fairly big and light, so can easily take a bright colour). Not sure about a theme, but we both like the idea of stickers on the walls. DH is keen on dinosaurs, while I like the idea of safari animals!

Hi to 100years, strawberrypie, AC, quod and everyone else :)

Am starting to feel a bit self-conscious now that I'm getting bigger. Not really showing yet, but I've put on weight mostly on my belly and my waist is slowly disappearing :( Luckily it's winter so I can wear drapey cardigans and loose chunky jumpers! Am going to need to go shopping soon for some new things though, as my normal clothes are starting to look a bit tight (and some of them don't fit anymore!)

I am adding to the list:

Take care.

JustShaggingForNow · 06/01/2011 11:35

Morning all!!
Feeling a little bit more calm about things this morning. I am hoping that the 4 days between the UPS incident the my OV will mean that we are in the clear!

It has somewhat focussed my mind though and I know that I am absolutely 100% ready!! It has also made me realise that i have to me more careful if we are going to make sure that I don't get PG before the March Half Marathon/ March Ski tip / April India adventure!!!

Squirrel I am sure that you don't look big to anybody else but you. We are always so hard on ourselves when it somes to what we see in the mirror! Your yellow nursery sounds lovely - how exciting!!!

JBells a boy would be perfect. Fingers crossed you get a 4D scan!

Quodlibet · 06/01/2011 14:27

Ooh JS - eeek for the close shave, but good to know you're ready, no? Are you using a persona monitor or just FAM method? (nosey emoticon!)

Loving all the nursery talk - if we ever get round to having a baby in this little flat the poor thing will be living down the side of the bed or in the bottom drawer or something....

squirrel007 · 06/01/2011 14:38

Just back from my scan, all is well and baby measures 13 weeks and 1 day :) Was very reassuring to see that everything's good.

js glad you're calmer now! You're right that I probably only look big to me, it just takes a bit of getting used to :)

bebejones · 06/01/2011 15:28

Hello all! I am back! :)

Congrats to JBells & Squirrel on happy healthy scans! :)

Going to try & talk to DH later. He has had a couple of good works days. Had a long chat with my mum about it & she is very much on my side!

Cirque du Soleil was the most amazing thing I have ever seen! Incredible! We were sat on the second row, about 10ft from the stage & before it started some of the artists were roaming around near us & doing magic & performing! The acrobats on the rings swung out over our heads so close we could have touched them & could feel the breeze as they rushed past! Also coz it was the premiere we got to see celebs on the red carpet being papped! Saw Kara & Artem (from Strictly) and also Brendan Cole & his wife. Saw Carol Vorderman, Chantelle (from BB) with Rav Wilding. Saw Jeremy Clarkson inside & Katherine Jenkins! Was just the best prize! Loved it! :o
