have they said when they will tell you by?

WYorksLass · 21/12/2010 12:26

AC i do feel more relaxed now. I think it's partly now it's offical and partly the fact that AF due date (mon) has been and gone. I was half expecting AF to turn up or at least some spotting. Thankfully it hasn't, yet!
I have my fingers crossed for you for your interview.

It's freezing here at work. The heating is broken so we are sitting in our coats :(

oh whywait i hope your ok, sorry your feeling low, i hope that u get your place and things start looking up for u. there have been lots of tears in this house to for diff reasons, also my friends in RL dont have kids so cant really speak to them and DP doesnt understand, i dont really have any adult interaction in the day at all thru the wk and have been feeling desperatly lonely all my friends work full time and dont really have any mummy friends. i completely know how u feel and how frustrating it can be when the people in your life cannot relate to the way your feeling.

i hope u have a lovely xmas and we hear from u agen soon

AmandaCooper · 21/12/2010 15:46

Whywait I'm so sorry you didn't get a BFP this month and that you've been feeling down with no one to talk to. What is it that's on your mind in particular? If it's waiting and stressing out about ttc, well we've all been there. I bet there will be some spectacular hysterics from me whichever way this interview goes.

Brilliant news about the PGCE interview, even if it does mean a possible ttc delay. I know it's easy to say that! God don't men have it easy!

squirrel007 · 21/12/2010 19:39

bebe how did it go with driving home? Hope it wasn't too difficult :) I just looked at your pictures, the snow ones look pretty and as usual your DD is very cute!

wyorks my DH also thinks he has super sperm! I'm not sure whether to try and have the flu jab or not - I had the swine flu jab earlier in the year so it's just the other seasonal variants that I need to worry about. I haven't been offered it by anyone so far since getting pg.

AC I missed the fact that your DH is now on board, that's great news! Fingers crossed for good interview news...

whywait sorry to hear about your pgce/ttc dilemma and this month's bfn :( The job vs kids choice is a tough one, and I don't think that even my DH really quite understands.

Age 29
Relationship married summer 2010
TTC not any more, 10.5 weeks pg
Reason for waiting had to wait till after honeymoon and anti-malarials
Recent news/updates had scan at 10 weeks, everything looks good, now eagerly awaiting the second trimester :)

jinglebellssantasmells · 21/12/2010 19:52

had my first pre-natal yoga class tonite cant say we did very much except a lot of breathing lol, was gud to meet other pg woman tho

bebeinamanger · 21/12/2010 20:00

I am home!! :o

Took 4 hours (usually takes 2) so not really too bad, all things considered! Has snowed since I got home though.

WW - so sorry you didn't get a BFP :( Fab news on the PGCE interview though, fingers crossed you get in to your first choice! So sorry you are feeling low though, it's so hard when everything gets on top of you & you can let it out to anyone. Feel free to rant at us if you need to.

AC - So exciting that your DH is 'onboard'...shall we make him up a cabin at the back of the train? Wink

100years · 21/12/2010 21:27

Hi all,

busy busy bee at the moment, work is mad and the extra time to get into work is making me ultra tired, so was in bed early last night, got a later start tomorrow so :) a semi lie in.

Big huge congrats to WYorks :) Woohoo, gonna book me a holibob as you are the second person I know to have conceived on honeymoon 1st month of trying :)

Sorry WW you got a BFN :(

AC great news about DH being on board :)

Age: 33

Relationship: Engaged to and living with a very lovely gorgeous man.

TTC: Right now, well not this second but am on official month 2 of TTC

Reason for waiting: we aren't

Recent news/updates: Had a cold/chest infection thing, all better now. Have an ulcer on my tongue. Am knackered. Am trying not to symptom spot this month.

Am still weighing up the possibility of changing jobs, but as to what yet I don't know. And where it will leave us on the TTC front - who knows.

AmandaCooper · 21/12/2010 21:28

Hey Bebe I'm glad you made it safe and sound. I'd hate to be stuck away from DH.

Yes I think DH is now on board. It just remains to be seen whether ttc next month is a realistic prospect.

AmandaCooper · 21/12/2010 21:30

Sorry 100years xposted. Sympathise re work. Can't wait for the Christmas break!

100years · 21/12/2010 21:32

Good luck to you AC for next month if it is.

I may be having my leave cancelled for Christmas eve, which will mean I am working till 3am on Christmas day. Hey ho. I better get some niceness to me as a return.

AmandaCooper · 21/12/2010 21:40

Oh no! That's a bit of a raw deal 100years. I'd hate to have to work on Christmas day.

100years · 21/12/2010 21:52

Well I get to finish at 3am so it's not on properly Christmas day and won't be missing dinner etc. Although I will be shattered if I do it. Last year (and next year if I'm not on matty leave) I was (will be) working 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th, now that was (and will be if I'm there) shit!!!

MrsSatsuma · 21/12/2010 22:37

AC I'm sure your interview went better than you thought - things always look worse to ourselves than to other people. As somebody above (sorry I can't remember who!) said, if you've got that far they must really like you.

DH is laughing at me for posting on MN. Hmph!

Went to get extra HPT today as we'll be away when AF due and discovered that local Tesco, which isn't particularly small, don't sell them!!

AmandaCooper · 22/12/2010 07:35

More practicing, MrsSatsuma?! Thanks for the encouragement. Hopefully we'll find out today or tomorrow. I don't want it hanging over me over Christmas.

JustShaggingForNow · 22/12/2010 10:01

Morning All!

AC I am keeping everything crossed for you on the job front. Wouldn't that be a wonderful xmas pressie?!? I know it would mean delaying TTC for a bit which would be very frustrating now that you have finally got your DH onboard but hopefully it would be good news in other ways. Starting a new job when you want more than anything to be PG is strange.

I am hopefully still planning on starting TTC in June. Only 6 months to go and hopefully that will go quickly. Think we will plan a trip to India in November and so I guess that we will have to stop TTC after August to make sure that I am a minimum of 12 weeks by the time we fly. Got to pop into see my GP in Jan for a chat and also to get my annual smear done (joy!!!) so will go over things with them then.

I've done quite a bit of travel in the last few years so have had most of my vaccinations but those that I will need before India I guess I can get before we start to TTC. I also need to check on the situation with anti-malarials and pregnancy. Funny how I am planning all of this but we might not even be able to get pregnant straight away. Funny how we all assume that it happens relatively quickly isn't it!!!!!

WW sorry to hear about this months BFN. Is it wrong of me to say that looking on the positive side it does mean you can have a few drinkies at xmas and NYE?!?

[waves to everybody else and hands out mince pies and sherry!!]

bebeinamanger · 22/12/2010 10:40

AC - Funny situation isn't it? You want the new job because you hate where you are. But at the same time you don't want it so you can TTC! I guess whatever happens, happens. Let fate decide! :)

JS - Exciting planning things though, even if it all seems a way off & is based on assumptions!

Well, our bathroom waste pipes are frozen! I have spent the morning pouring boiling water down the sink & bath & then mopping it out again. Arm aches now! :( This is so typical of my life at the moment!

JustShaggingForNow · 22/12/2010 11:20

Oh bebe that sucks. This cold weather is getting so tiresome at the moment isn't it?

How is your DH feeling? Looking forward to some nice family time over xmas?

bebeinamanger · 22/12/2010 11:44

Unfortunately DH will be working a lot over the Christms 'break' :( Think things are a bit stressful but he is doing his best not to let on to me Hmm

Just don't know what to do about frozen pipe! Confused Our bathroom is downstairs & the pipes go straight out of the house underground into the main drain! Can't get to them to warm them up!! It's definitely ice rather than a blockage coz when I clear it & the water comes back up it's clear & freezing cold! Maybe I should train to be a plumber rather than a teacher...probably more money in it! Hmm Wink

JustShaggingForNow · 22/12/2010 12:23

Good idea on the plumbing front. There is great money in that! DH thought about it for a while!!!!!!

Crappy that your DH has to work over xmas. Mine announced yesterday evening that he thinks that he may have to go up to Leeds on xmas eve for work (despite being on holiday this week has has worked every day so far) I pointed out that if he was in Leeds on xmas eve then there is a strong possibility that he won't be able to get back to Bath for xmas eve night or xmas day if the weather turns bad - which would make me VERY grumpy! Fingers crossed he can postpone it or get out of it.

bebeinamanger · 22/12/2010 12:44

DH has to collate some kind of information, daily report things. (Not 100% sure what) so hopefully it is only a couple of hours work a day & he can do it form home!

Fingers crossed your DH can get out of that! That would suck!!!

Just had to cancel taking DD to LaplandUK 2moro :( Sad because I won it, but just can't risk taking a 2 year old in this weather on such a trek across the country late at night! Took DH over an hour to do the 15min journey to work!

nannyl · 22/12/2010 12:53

Hey bebe can i join you.

Our family bathroom pipes are frozen too Sad
Have friends coming to stay today and thought id just give it a clean... (not sure why as our cleaner did it on Friday and we havent used it at all)

anyway the waste pipes are frozen

decided to try shower on super hot in the bath.... no luck
then a kettle down the sink.... no luck
decided to plunge... what a disaster... all this manky mouldy stuff came out the overflow Shock didnt learn lesson from this and tried to plunge the bath, same happened

big mistake
i now have a sink full of manky mouldy discusting smelling brown water and a bath full of the same.
(thankfully to toilet is ok)

Other wise have had a good day
iced my Xmas cake, made cranberry sauce and Nigellas Xmas cup cake. Hoovered, mopped kitchen floor, washed up, done ironing, but now have this to sort out.

GRRR

waiting for Sainsburys now who are bringing my Xmas groceries. Think i'll just leave the bath / sink, apoliguse and they can use the en suite instead!
