Good luck for Tuesday AC! I suppose it might be thought of as a win-win situation though- If you get the job great! If you don't-you can start TTC :)

Has your passport turned up jbells? I hate it when things like that happen, it's so frustrating but at least it's only because of baby brainitis!

I wonder if your DH needs to get some support from his GP if he is always feeling down, Bebe. From what you have said before he has had a few minor problems in the past and soes not like getting help. It's a shame for him and you though :( You always sound upbeat though- I think you deal with everything really well- you must be a very stong person!

Hope you feel better soon nannyl!

Hello everyone else............Christmas is getting closer! Yipee! Xmas Grin

JustShaggingForNow · 16/12/2010 12:23

Hi di hi ladies :)

Well my shift didn't turn out too bad, unfortunately the food heating facilities at work last night were not working, so my meal I had taken in was wasted and I had to get a takeaway, bit shit hey. Driving home I keep thinking about changing jobs and thinking maybe I should just temp for a while so we can move, FFS I am really not happy there at the moment. :(

Got a few jobs to do this afternoon, but so far I've had the motivation to do bugger all and have just caught up on scrubs. :) Yay, the new series and I shed a little tear in my eye when it all got emotional and talking of second chances.

Found out someone else at work is pg, I knew this would happen! I want to be next....

Nice weekend planned with OH and going to his parent's house, along with an afternoon party type thing with some friends. Going to get his mum to show me how to crochet some stuff, I'm really liking knitting and want to crochet too. If/when I get pg I will make all kinds of things for baby :)

nannyl · 16/12/2010 14:08

Afternoon all

AC good luck for Tuesday
welcome back JS... wow you have been busy. hope you are enjoying your new job.
100, sorry to hear you dont like your job. IMO lifes too short to be unhappy so perhaps temping is a good idea. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

I am feeling a teeny tiny bit better i think.
I made the trek into town this morning (my 1 and only trip) for a few bits which you just cant buy online.. and some extra stocking fillers for OH.
Also made it to boots (sounding as ill as i felt) and got some paracetamol... the lady was telling me that if im pregnant basically olbas oil to smell, normal strepsils (ie not extra ones) and paracetamol are all im allowed. Sad.... but she let me get some cold and flu capsule things for OH

(i think i might have given my cold to OH Sad... i cant believe the timing... we are supposed to be TTC from well TODAY actually Shock but if we are both feeling crap i dont hold up much hope for getting pg Sad.

Have been looking ahead to todays date for months and months, but OH says theres always next month, and i guess he's right. Its just typical, my 1st cold this year, and OH's 1st cold in OVER a year at the exact time that we are hoping to make our baby. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Also my cold is trying to go to my chest... last time this happened i was on AB's and back on my asthma medication for about 6 weeks. All things i want to avoid if pg Sad

Am sitting here watching the heavy snow fall. My car is now covered in snow and its laying in our garden again. The last bit of the snow only melted in our garden about 2 days ago, and it has still not even gone in the fields, yet it is coming again.

Right gonna stop moaning now.... need to wash up and think ill then go and have a nap in bed.

nannyl · 16/12/2010 15:42

Just re-read that post and sorry its really moany.

Also forgot to mention my happy news...

I took a trip to my bargain charity shop today.
Came away with baby bath (£1) immaculate, as new, and when browsing mothercare last week the one id decided id probably get
a shade-a-babe (50p). Something else ive used nannying and was on my list anyway
and a car seat buggy toy thing similar to this (I LOVE tiny love baby toys) (50p) again immaculate as new.

All stuff i would have bought and has cost me £2 instead of £75. Bargain!

Last week i got a real proper gro-bag for 50p. While i will get my baby some nice new sleeping bags it will be a useful spare for if baby is sick etc

Think im feeling a little better
Have made Jamie olivers beef stew for tea, and have stuck some fresh bread on.

Also the snow has stopped, so i hope it stays away now Grin

bebeinamanger · 16/12/2010 18:54

JS - How is the new job? How exciting that you have started!! :o

Nannyl - That is rotten bad luck :( You poor thing! I had a horrid cold which came on the day before we got married. I was 5 1/2 weeks PG at the time, so couldn't take anything! Felt awful & my mum was so confused as to why I wouldn't take the Beechams she bought me! I kept saying that I wanted a 'clear head' for the wedding! Hmm A few drops of olbas in some hot water & breathe in the vapours, works really well! Hope you feel better in time to do some SWI!

100 - I love scrubs, it is probably one of DHs absolute favourite programmes. I love the new series, such a shame it's the last one! :(
So sorry you are hating work. What a nightmare situation. Hopefully if you can change your shifts that might improve things

DH is having a really shit time at work. (Strawberry don't think he would go to GP again about it!) TTC is just an issue I'm dreading bringing up. I feel like I'm treading on eggshells with him as it is! :( Things are just so tough in his line of work right now (financial services) that everytime there is a little light at the end of the tunnel it turns out to be an oncoming train!! Hoping that the New Year will bring better things, although I seem to remember saying something similar a year ago! Hmm

squirrel007 · 16/12/2010 20:59

Hi all! How are you all? I am back after a little break from this site, and just caught up on all the news :) I was getting a bit paranoid, and every thread I read on here seemed to have something about miscarriage. So I decided to stop reading until I had my first scan and could relax!

So I had the scan today, and it was a relief to see the little baby wriggling away :) The hospital reckon that I'm only 10 weeks though, so I have another scan booked in Jan for more accurate dating. I've been feeling a bit grotty, but better recently so I hope that the 1st trimester symptoms are finally passing.

nannyl - I have found that Bottlegreen's lemongrass and ginger cordial, made up with hot water, is fantastic for a cold. It's quite spicy and clears your head really well. Not so good if you don't like ginger though.

AC - good luck with the next interview!

bebe - sorry to hear your DH is still having a bad time :(

100years - sounds like you've had a rough time of it, hope you are feeling better now.

js - that all sounds very hectic! Hope the new job is going well.

Hi to everyone else!

bebeinamanger · 17/12/2010 06:37

Welcome back squirrel! :)

Congrats on the scan! Didn't it get 'put forward' a bit to avoid Christmas? Maybe that's why you were 10 weeks! Hope all the nasty first trimester stuff is passed soon! :)

AmandaCooper · 17/12/2010 08:44

Hey JS nice to have you back!

How's the new job working out? Do you think you're going to like it better than the old place? It must be worth it to not have to do that crazy commute!

Now that you've started, are you thinking about your ttc timetable at all? I have no idea what a reasonable amount of time in a new job might be before starting trying and it's on my mind in case I get this job I've been going for. It's a minefield!

AmandaCooper · 17/12/2010 08:49

Strawberry pie I kind of know what you mean about a win win situation but I worry it might not be a good thing to have a baby almost as a reaction to a failure. Are you all ready for Christmas? I've got loads to do!

jinglebellssantasmells · 17/12/2010 09:37

morning all,

Well wud just like to announce that my passport and chester race ticket turned up safely in malta, cant believe i managed to stick them in post with the xmas presents, pregnancy brain and then yest when i was at the garage i forgot my pin number, i did that the last time i was pg to. I am completly losing the plot, going to be put in a padded room if i carry on like this

AC- i am also not finished for xmas and i just cant find the motivation to do it, i am normally really xcited for xmas but this year i am just not really looking forward to it :(

Squirral, glad your scan went well, how far along did u think u were? wot EDD did they give u?

JS- how is the new job going? hope its going well for u

bebe- i saw u on the competitions winners thread, how exciting and just b4 xmas Xmas Grin
mayb your luck is changing

jinglebellssantasmells · 17/12/2010 09:38

oh just incase u didnt guess it JBells

100years · 17/12/2010 11:47

Jinglebells, I would have guessed without the post :) But that's cool, glad your passport and tickets turned up, although not in the place they should be, hope you get them back in time for what you need them for.

AC it wouldn't be having a baby as a reaction to the 'failure'(as you put it, a horrible word and having got soooooo far it's no where near even being a possible failure) you wanted to TTC before you went for the job, applying for the job stopped you trying as the job is neccesary, if the job doesn't happen then it is meant that you are to TTC. Please don't look at it like a failure.

Welcome back squirrel, glad you have had a scan and seen baby wriggling about in there :)

Nannyl how are you feeling?

bebe how are things for you?

Away again for a few days this evening :) So I won't be on here much, but will check in when I'm home on Sunday.

jinglebellssantasmells · 17/12/2010 15:20

100- ooh anywhere nice, have fun Xmas Smile

i have been feeling the baby move loads today so much so that it was making my belly visibly move, dont think it was so definate this early on with DD

MrsSatsuma · 17/12/2010 17:29

Hello all! End of term madness is now over (thank goodness) so can indulge in MNing again! Which is pretty much the only communication I can cope with at the moment, having totally lost my voice :( Was ill at weekend but fine now, just v frustrated!! Odd symptoms of no appetite and occasionally go dizzy, plus cramps like period pains but not the right time. All possible pg symptoms according to what I've read but think it's probably too early in cycle (am on day 18). Am trying not to get my hopes up as could just be left over from weekend illness.

Enough about me... hope everyone else is okay! AC good luck with your interview - fingers crossed for you. nannyl Agree with Squirrel about the bottlegreen stuff - it's brilliant. Apparently garlic is very good for colds too.

jinglebellssantasmells · 17/12/2010 19:47

ahhhh we have thick snow and its only been falling for an hour :(

i hate snow boooo

squirrel007 · 18/12/2010 15:17

Hi everyone! I'm loving the christmas names :)

bebe and jbells I thought I was a bit over 11 weeks, but turns out I was only 10. To be honest, I didn't really have much of an idea as I'd just had the coil out and my cycles are normally irregular anyway. I didn't complain when the mw put down that I would have been 12 weeks as I knew that way I'd at least have a scan before xmas! They didn't give me a due date, I have another scan in Jan for that.

jbells glad you have found your passport! And really exciting about feeling the baby move! I'm looking forward to that bit :) Hope the snow isn't too bad today.

I'm feeling pretty good here today, which is so nice after weeks of feeling grotty. I went shopping and have bought myself a few long expandable jumpers and some jeans to get me through the next few weeks. I have put on a bit of weight round my waist already, and a lot of my clothes don't look so good anymore :( But I will do some more sales shopping after xmas and hopefully I can manage to do pregnancy with style!

Hope you're all well and not too cold Xmas Smile

jinglebellssantasmells · 18/12/2010 16:23

hey squirral, i must say at 18 weeks my style has already gone out the window the mat clothes ive looked at r horrid, ive only got one pair of pre preg jeans that still fits me now aswell and its getting far too cold for leggins, i remember when i was getting to the end of my pg with DD and longing to wear normal clothes agen, got a feeling im goin to be fed up of being pg in no time, my hormones r completely up the wall and im constantly feeling upset and wingy :( im wondering whether this 2nd trimester glow actually exists

100years · 18/12/2010 20:40

Weekend was cut short due to the weather. We made it up north for the meal last night, then headed to my future-in-law's and it was pretty rubbish driving across the Pennines in the snow in the middle of the night, this morning kind of thought it would be better just to head home and miss the party, turns out the people who were local weren't even going to make it so we were not the only ones. Made it home in one piece, and have tonnes of snow here, loads of breakdowns, seen a load of cars that had had a prang, and a few stranded lorries. Still we are in the warm and dry now, had a laugh when we nipped to OH's sister and ended up pushing each other into hedges.

Hope everyone is doing OK. Xmas Smile

Welcome back to the fold MrsSatsuma :)

I'm looking forward to my style going out of the window, although I will prob hate it when it happens.

bebeinamanger · 18/12/2010 21:52

I don't have any style anyway, so being pregnant doesn't impact on that with me! :o

Glad everyone is safe and ok! I fear I may be stranded at my mums. We went out here this afternoon (having religiously monitoring the weather forecasts & no snow being predicted) no snow to be seen, not even a hint and when we left the pottery painting place (an hour later) there was 2 inches of snow on the ground & it was still coming down heavy! Hmm Took 15mins to get back from town centre 1.5miles then took me an hour to drive back to my mums other house where we are staying. Had to get the neighbours to push my car up the drive! The snow is nearly knee deep! DD can't wait to play in it 2moro, I'm gutted I left her sledge at home, but I fear she may disappear in the snow! It'll be up to her waist I should think!

I love the snow, but not when I have a scary night time drive! Hit a blizzard on the way here...again, not forecast by the weather people in the area I was going through!!! Hmm Confused

MrsSatsuma · 18/12/2010 23:14

I've been desperate for snow for ages, but wish it had come at another time rather than this weekend! PIL and mum couldn't come for long-planned dinner, and we've got plans to see friends next week that I hope we can still do. I'm not moaning too much though as have been reading mumoverseas's post on the other forum about her DCs not getting flights out to her because of it so they won't be there for Christmas, and another whose wedding has had to be cancelled, so I can't really complain. Going to make most of the gained time by getting up to date with housework so I don't worry about it over Christmas! Can also go to friend's party tomorrow which I was going to miss (I can walk there) so every cloud... Hope everybody else's plans haven't been badly affected!

Bought PG test today... thought I might feel better in the 2WW if I at least practice doing one..!!! Xmas Blush

jinglebellssantasmells · 19/12/2010 08:46

morning everyone, just checking in b4 i get ready for work, really not looking forward to trying to drive out there or unbury my car out the snow.

Hope everyone has a nice sunday

WYorksLass · 19/12/2010 17:40

Hi, sorry i haven't been around much this week, i was going a bit mad symptom spotting!

Anyway, it seems my instincts were right, we did a test on Saturday (2 days before AF due) and got...

A BFP!!!!!!!!! Grin

Thanks for crossing your fingers for us, please keep them crossed it all continues ok. I'm very excited but also nervous of something going wrong at this early stage.

FancyALittle · 19/12/2010 17:43

I've been dithering, waiting, fretting, pondering! I think the waiting will have to go on for just a little bit longer (the sensible thing to do). Can I join this thread?

bebeinamanger · 19/12/2010 17:47

Yay WYorks!!! How exciting!! Don't go deserting us now though, we will need updates!! Wink Will keep everything crossd it's a sticky bean for you! Is this a honeymoon baby?

Welcome FancyALittle! :) What's your situation, why are you waiting/dithering?

I think I may be stuck at my mums! Xmas Confused I need to get back to DH before Christmas, but there is at least 8 inches of snow still & more possibly forecast over the next few days! Don't know what to do for the best! :(
