Hello! Not been on for a bit... Back at school (panic attack on Saturday :( but happily not at school which would have been worse. Although it did ruin Harry Potter for me...) and into end-of-term madness. School show this week so sleep has gone out the window. Plus Ofsted for DH - a lovely combination! Am determined SWI will still go ahead as planned!! Back is killing me though... have tried chiropractice, much physio, apparently not a good candidate for Alexander Technique - if anybody has any other suggestions I would be very grateful!

Argh, more work to do now. Gaaaah.

(sorry, am in ranty fed-up mood today!)

MrsSatsuma · 07/12/2010 21:10

PS congratulations WYorks!! :)

bebeinamanger · 07/12/2010 21:17

Welcome back MrsS! Might accupuncture be of any help? Or some kind of massage therapy? Sorry you had another attack on Saturday :( Are they getting easier to spot when they are coming? The only person who can calm my DH down is his dad, which is funny coz he's very straight talking/no nonsense sort of person. Pretty much gives DH a verbal slap round the face!! Hmm Has your GP suggested anything to help? At least it is nearly the end of term & you can have a bit of a break & try & collect your thoughts a bit & refresh.

Having a very dull evening while DH watches the football. It's too cold everywhere else but the living room so I don't fancy doing anything except sitting!! Hmm

MrsSatsuma · 07/12/2010 21:22

Is cold here too - house not too bad but my feet are freezing!! I have to confess that my reading of late (which I usually do when DH watches sport) has consisted of pregnancy books. I can't help it, I seem to be a woman obsessed!

Have tried acupuncture for the panic but not for the back - only problem is it costs a fortune so have had to stop for the moment as it was really adding up (same with physio...). GP has suggested CBT for anxiety so am waiting to hear from them. I can't say the job does much to help it all!!

Done more work... I plan to stop at 9.30 regardless!!!

100years · 08/12/2010 09:50

Morning all.

How is everyone?

I am still full of snot/congestion, and not sure the chest is clear, am seeing the Doc at 11am to check before I book fit from work. Like I said I don't feel as poorly as I did, but I don't feel right and the last thing I want is anything that's still there to come back with a vengeance and mean I'm ill next week, work would not take kindly to that, and that's kind of stressing me out.

In other news I'm older come this friday Xmas Shock Xmas Grin and we now have the christmas tree up. Xmas Grin

Next week sees the start of the SWI window, so keep your fingers crossed. I'm only one proper month in and yet I feel like it may never happen, rolls eyes imagine what I will be like in 6 or 9 months time if I am not pg by then!

nanny, I have lots of runner friends, a lot of them have children, so much as I know what you are saying and I could add it to my list of things to worry about, I'm not going to - for now. Although OH is starting his mara training, I'm more worried about knackering him out than anything. Aw well it's good cross training! LOL

MrsSatsuma, I hope you get something that helps with your panic attacks, I sometimes get like that, but it has been a while, I can usually stop it when I realise it's coming, but while you are having one it makes the panic feeling worse and is a bit of a cycle :(

As for the rest of you lot, keep plodding on.

100years · 08/12/2010 11:46

How can you go from being A'OK one minute to feeling like shite the next??? The antibiotics haven't worked, because what I have is viral, and therefore they won't work. It hasn't gone, so I've got a sick note for a week. I can't book fit from work until it's gone, just because I can't risk being ill again so soon. Hey ho. Maybe I'll relax about it now and feel much better tomorrow!

WYorksLass · 08/12/2010 12:30

sending big hugs to you 100years (((((((())))))))
Just concentrate on getting better for your Birthday and lots of SWI. Don't worry about work, they'll have to cope.

MrsS, i used to have panic attacks as a teenager and ended up seeing a shrink at the age of 15. The best thing he told me was you have to find a way to break the cycle so you need to keep something on you that you can concentrate on to try to take your mind off it. I used to have a pocketful of paper clips and try and make werid shapes/animals out of them. It's really hard to keep your mind from the panic at first but does help.
15 years on i am much better although still prone to anxiety on occasion. I can really recommend meditation, i went to buddhist meditaion classes for a while and it was brilliant. You don't need to be buddhist or any other religion, i found it really helped.

WYorksLass · 08/12/2010 12:37

Sorry, loads of typos in last post, i'm tired!

Well, i'm now on CD16 and i know it's far too early for symptoms but i have the following which is driving me a little mad!

Very tired = Jet Lag
A crampy tummy with odd pains = ovulation cramps? I usually get them but not for so long
Heartburn = too much crap food on honeymoon

The weirdest thing is i have a longing to feel sick, i know, bonkers!

AmandaCooper · 08/12/2010 19:16

WYorks you are funny, longing to feel sick! I will remind you of this longing when you are racked with morning sickness!

everybody's ttc and leaving me behind. This is just what I dreaded. George and Jake you better pour me a stiff martini, and be generous!

AmandaCooper · 08/12/2010 19:19

100years you do sound poorly. Hope you're over the worst of it soon and on the mend x

bebeinamanger · 08/12/2010 19:37

I'm not TTC yet AC! I'm still clinging onto the hope that DH might change his mind after Christmas! Hmm

I so need a drink, an actual one! Been soooooooooooo busy today!

WYorks - You will regret longing to feel sick!! :o Wink

100 - sorry you are still feeling so poorly :(

jbells · 08/12/2010 19:46

wavess to all speak to u all soon

AstroZola · 08/12/2010 20:41

Amanda - i'm not TTC either...i've got wait until next September all being well...so i can sympathise...

100 - i'm glad you've got a sick note and i agree with bebe - you really must rest before going back to work...they can't do much about it and neither can you...if you go back to work ill and continue to be stressed and unwell it'll take you much, much longer to fully recover therefore being actually less efficient for them...take it easy!!

wyorks - i'm really hoping for a BFP for you...it'll be my first on here and i'm very excited for you...eek!!

bebe - i hope you're feeling better too and you're not uncomfortable...did you see the news the other day about a possible treatment for MS?

hope everybody else is ok...i'm fully recovered from concussion and still sneaking in baby comments and small conversations with DP...he he...still...don't have a 'yes' yet but i'm sure it will come soon enough...i'm more hopeful for it nowadays...Smile...

well...i've got lots of homework to do for college and work, have a meeting with my dog to do so somebody can look after him over xmas and an outfit to buy for the xmas party at work so i may be gone for a few days...everybody take care and have a fab weekend...xxx

bebeinamanger · 08/12/2010 21:36

Astro - I did see that on the news, it's a massive breakthrough & I really hope they can develop something off the back of it. Is a little glimmer of hope at least! :)
Glad you are feeling better after the concussion, it's not fun!

JBells - Have you had your BP checked? It might be that making you feel faint. Hope you feel better soon, thank God you were with your mum!

Been wrapping Xmas presents all evening & my hip is now agony after sitting on the floor :( Got doctors appt 2moro afternoon. Hoping it gets 'fixed' but at the same time really don't want the steroid injection into the joint! :(

AmandaCooper · 08/12/2010 22:55

Groan Astrozola you will probably still get in before me. I just hope I get this job so I have something positive to focus on. This time last year I'd have said I wouldn't want a summer baby, but at this rate any baby of mine will be lucky to be here at all.

WYorksLass · 09/12/2010 12:40

Hmm, ok, perhaps i don't long to be sick. I want some proper symptoms though! I'm very impatient!

bebeinamanger · 09/12/2010 13:04

Right, so, dilema......
To OPK or not to OPK that is the question? Hmm

I kinda want to know if I'm right in 'guessing' at day 18/19 OV. But assuming that I have another 28 day cycle (like last month) average OV is day 14 (right?) & the OV sticks recommend starting using them on day 11! (2moro) But I could end up using my whole stash on obsessing over this if I start too soon! I don't want to waste them before TTC (assuming DH changes his mind Hmm) but I feel like I need to know what's going on so I can 'be prepared'! Especially if it turns out that I am right & I am OVing late on! Confused Any ideas?

nannyl · 09/12/2010 17:38

hello all

bebe i vote you use your OPK's now. You can always get some more, can get them really cheap on ebay /amazon

jbells hope you feel better

Hope everyone has a good day.

Seeing a few friends today and tomorrow. :)

bebeinamanger · 10/12/2010 11:09

Happy Birthday 100!! Hope you have a fab day, despite the lurgy! :)

WYorksLass · 10/12/2010 15:00

nannyl · 10/12/2010 18:57

happy Birthday 100. Hope you have had a lovely day, and that the lurgy is disappearing.

Nothing to report here, apart from the SNOW IS MELTING Grin Grin Grin. After 2 weeks i can finally see (some of) the grass in my garden, and can drive on our road (rather than ice skate down it)

Having a relaxing ish weekend.
Plan to:
Go to my lovely market (havent made it for a while)
make mince pies
wrap presents
and go to MIL's for roast goose and a dog walk on Sunday, so we have some goose fat for Xmas Dinner.

Oh and turn on my CBFM tomorrow (day 5) as didnt want to faff in my morning rush!

bebeinamanger · 10/12/2010 19:28

Nannyl - That sounds like a perfect weekend to me! :)

I shall be making some mince pies too at some point. Have cheated and bought some for now, but have alot of homemade mincemeat to use...just don't want to 'waste' it before Christmas! Wink

Planning on trying the OPKs over the weekend, not sure about OV pain coz I get it mainly in my side above my hip (think it's a bit early for me anyway) but my hip is so painful it'll probably mask it! :( Had injection into it today after it was postponed yesterday. Hope it helps!
