Has anyone tried this with an "older" surrogate. A friend has offered to help us but she is >45 (and post menopause), I'm not sure what the risks to her are etc. It would be donor eggs. Also is the IVF needed more expensive?

don't know - maybe this link will help

www.information-on-surrogacy.com/age-limit-on-being-a-surrogate-mother.html

i think it's the americans who will be up on this. the UK don't have a great deal of surrogacy at the moment. i would also ask the London Women's Clinic in Harley street. They seem to be more up for surrogacy etc (there was a story in the paper the other day about a surrogate for a gay couple, although I'm not sure if the surrogate was also giving her eggs).

Thanks for the link. The clinic say they will agree to it "in principle" but I just wondered how common it was to try etc. Guess I can ask the clinic..
