How early have you TTC after baby 1? (or 2... or 3...)

We had 8 years of difficulties in getting pregnant with DC1 who is currently 6 weeks old. I really feel like we need to start TTC baby 2 ASAP (as in this cycle) because this could very well happen again.

DH thinks I'm mad because we could end up having a 12-month age gap if everything were to magically work first time or two.

How early have you started TTC baby 2 (or 3 or 4!) after giving birth? I may sound like a crazy woman but we would love 2 children and I know I am so blessed to have DC1 but neither of us are getting any younger really Sad

I started when DS was 5 months but he's now 15 and nothing so far.

I think you'd need to assess whether your body could handle another pregnancy so quickly and maybe talk to people with small age gaps. Also, if you're BF then it could take a lot longer/not happen while your feeding.

Just a friendly piece of advice... 6 weeks is easy as they're immobile, don't have many needs etc. Once your LO gets moving is when it gets harder and if you're heavily pregnant would you enjoy the first crawl/first steps/first wrecking of your house? :)

The smallest gap I know in RL is 14 months and that was tough but the second pregnancy was hard.

Goof luck whatever you decide.
