Yes it is on one side, I suppose it depends witch falopion tube the egg is being released on.

I am definately aware of ovulation. It is a dull ache on one side for a day or so, but some months I actually have quite sharp pains, especially on sitting down/standing up etc. I was never aware of any of this til probably about 3-4 years ago!

I have not noticed if it is alternate sides each month but it is not always the same side.

Maybe if you ache both sides you could have twins

I think you ovulate 14 days from the first day of last period.
