hi,
getting ready to ttc#3, with 1st 2 was something i never considered, but have now spent quite a bit of time on here (when the kids r tucked up in bed) and read various bits on ovulation sticks/basal temperature..
but for a newbie with trying to work this out, and preferably doing something easily and cheaply if possible (im sure i read basal temp needs a special themrometer and needs 2 b taken b4 getting up in morning? cant c me doing that as always in 2 much of a rush and would forget),
can someone please explain these things to me
THANKYOU!!

OK I'll try. For me, I can usually tell based on two things. The pain in my stomach and the contents of my underwear Blush

In a "normal" cycle of lets say 28 days, you'll ovulate approx 14 days before your period is due, though I believe the actual range of normal is 10-16 days before. So if you have a fairly regular cycle, you will be able to use that as a guide, ie you will ovulate pretty much in the middle. Then the next giveaway is what is known as EWCM - cervical mucus. ie the contents of your knickers! In the days running up to OV you will probably notice it getting the colour and consistency of egg-whites, hence the EWCM acronym. My final symptom is lower abdominal pain, there was a good thread on here earlier that mentioned you can get pain for different things, eg the follicles growing, or indeed the release of the egg. I tend to get a very sharp pain which I presume (based on EWCM and timing) is the actual release. Will see if I can find that thread as it was useful.

So that's all I do. But then I'm not pregnant yet! I have bought a BBT but can't be bothered using it. It was literally a few pounds from Amazon though, not too expensive.
