Are tests the same between pregnancies?

Hi,
Looking for some experiences.

When I got pregnant with my son, I took a test the day my period was due and got a massive, immediate strong positive.

My period due today too and because I couldn't wait, I took a Tesco cheapie test first thing this morning. I got a really really faint line. Bought a First Response and did it this afternoon and got an even fainter line. I thought this would be stronger because it was First Response, is this right?

So can I have some experiences related to that or to having different responses to different pregnancies?

Going to try to wait another couple of days before testing again and need some hope!

I had a bit of spotting at 11dpo which could be implantation bleed. Didn't have that with DS either.

Thanks xxx

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Tesco cheapie test is probably designed to do after your period is due and even then with your first wee of the day as that is when the hcg hormone detected by tests is the strongest.

If you did the first response test with a wee later on in the day then that would explain the faintness.

Implantation bleeds are very common. I had one with ds and he's sat on the floor covering it with stickers. I've had two pregnancies without implantation bleeds and they didn't progress past the 7th week, so for me they're normal.

Void lck and am sure that line will get stronger thus time next week.

Every pregnancy is different! My first I did not get a positive til 3 days after af due, my dc2 got positive week before af due, and dc3 got positive just before af due. All symptoms different too.

As for faintness of lines, it depends on the amount of dye in the test (this can be different even for the same brand) and the amount of dilution of your wee. Most people have most concentrated wee first thing in the morning (though not all, I normally get the strongest response for second morning wee! other people test stronger in the evenings)

Anyway congratulations on your pregnancy!
