Nausea from conception?

My husband and I started trying for our first baby six days ago and ever since then I have felt extremely nauseous and have had strange stomach cramps. I was just wondering if you think this is completely psychosomatic/something unrelated or if anyone else has felt pregnancy systems from conception and then found out that they were pregnant? Be gentle on me this is my first post : )

Unlikely. Sorry :(

Hello mrsp

Nausea is caused by HCG, the preganncy hormone, I think.

Progesterone maintains the pregnancy from conception until implantation, at which point HCG is produced by the foetus.

Implantation is on average 6 - 10 days after conception. I believe it is possible to get cramping / implantaion bleeding at this point.

However, it is unlikely that nausea you started feeling 6 days ago is pregnancy related.

Anyway good luck with TTC - hope it's not too long before you get a BFP x

I had cramps from 6dpo with DD. And then nausea from 8dpo. If you got lucky and happened to be in a fertile patch the day you started trying, managed to conceive first time, and its now 6 days later, its not beyond the realms of possibility.

Chances are though that you are more aware of what your body is doing as you wait to see if you are pregnant, please see the thread on ridiculous symptom spotting to see just how common this is.

GL and hope you did get lucky first time!

Like someone said, it's unlikely to get symptoms that early, but are you taking multivitamins for ttc? I find that they make me a little nauseous (think it's the iron in them?), and combined with nerves made me feel a bit strange for the first week or so of ttc!

Fingers crossed you get a good result soon :)

Ma, mother of 8 claimed that she always knew when she conceived, 'cause she woke up the next morning with heart burn.

Have no reason to not believe her. . . .

3 of my sibs have claimed the same, though clearly female sibs

Thanks everyone for your advice. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Ten days and counting! :)

Squirrell007 - I am taking multivitamins but have been for six months but I guess it could be that!

sickoftheholidays - I had a look at the thread of ridiculous symptom checking - good to know I am not alone! Wink
