Low Sperm Count

Got DP results:

Motility= 46%

Sperm Count= 7

Morphology= 17

So far this year we have conceived twice, and lost both at 6 weeks.
I think we have only managed that as I'm charting, using cbfm and opk's...so literally catching the egg bang on time, but for whatever reason?? it doesn't quite take??

Really unsure what to do next? DP doesn't want me to suffer another loss...but without trying we will never have a child together.

I have two other DC, so know I can.

Anybody experienced this? got any advice? good or bad.

Thanks

Hi, I didn't want you to go unanswered.

At first glance the results don't look that great - assuming the sperm count (in millions) should be 20. So 7 is low.

BUT you've conceived 4 times! So it can't be that bad!! I suggest you speak to your GP about the mc as that is more the issue.

Good luck

Thanks Miffles spoken to a Doctor friend, and they suspect it may be a chromosome issue with DP's sperm and may need ICIS?? treatmentSad, the pregnancy hormones have been low and not risen with both mc's.

Also I have two DC from previous relationship.

We are hoping to get more tests done soon.

Thanks again.

Yes, sounds like more tests are needed. Are you under a fertility consultant?

My DH's count and morphology are poor - found out 3 weeks ago. And we went to FC due to my PCOS!! Anyway, the FC said he wanted to do some more tests, and we find out the chromosome/hormone results on Monday. He said he didn't expect them to show anything, as it is quite rare to have a chromosome problem...?

ICSI is a specific type of IVF. Where sperm meets egg in a petri dish! They can watch fertilization take place so much higher success rate when sperm count is low. None of us expect to need these assisted conception teschniques, but I'm so glad they are available.

Hope you get some answers soon and can stay positive. :)

Hi, no we arn't yet...but have both been referred, not sure how much help we can get on NHS? as I already have two DC, but if it does turn out to be an issue on DP side, hopefully we can get some form of help??...just think it's really unfair that because I have DC he is not entitled to a biological child of his own?...because if it is a sperm isssue, and god forbid we ever parted, he would have the same issue with any female?.

Hope your results come back ok? fingers crossed!, and if you don't mind me asking what were your DH results like? did you get a copy? (hoping to geta copy of DP's next week from surgery).

Are you NHS of private...and yes so glad there are so many things that can help us all...just wish it all happened a little quicker!![hsmile]
