Clomid Question

Hi,

I had 3 cycles of clomid (32, 28, 29 days long) and fairly certain I ovulated on each. Before the clomid my cycles were 36, 45, 53, 41, 46, 46. Now I'm CD61 and no sign of AF and definitely not pregnant. I have PCOS so long cycles are not unheard of for me but this one seems exceptionally long. Has anyone else had a really long/weird cycle after coming off clomid? A couple of people have suggested I ask my doctor for progesterone to induce a bleed, but not sure whether to phone the GP or my FC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I had a 40 odd day cycle immediately post clomid even though my clomid cycles were 38 days. I would speak to your FC if he was the person who prescribed the clomid. DO you have another appointment soon? I had an appointment at the end of each treatment period, so after clomid, IUI ect.

28 not 38

Thanks for the reply bloodberry. Initially went to the GP about clomid and was told we had to go through the FC. I don't have another appointment, was told to phone when my period arrived to book a HSG, don't even know when I'll next get to see my consultant.

I would ring and let them know what is happening they may then induce a bleed to do the HSG.

Doesn't look like the clomid worked for you unfortunately:(. Your now long cycle is symptomatic of PCOS as well, due to PCOS as well I had no cycle at all for at least 3 months.

You should be seen regularly by the fertility clinic in question; these people seem to be mucking you about. Do not be fobbed off.

It does not look like you were monitored whilst on clomid either which is another no-no because you have no way of knowing whether its doing its job or not.

I would seek a second opinion from another unit.

Atilla thanks for your reply. I was monitored whilst on clomid; scans for the first cycle and blood progesterone taken in every cycle. Unfortuantely I seem to have been left in the dark since finishing the tablets. Haven't actually seen my consultant since January. I should have been in for a HSG immediately after finishing the clomid, however a letter from my consultant informing me of what was happening was not posted for nearly a month after it was dated so I didn't get the information in time ([hangry] GRR!!). I know I really should stand up for myself more and demand answers but I find it very difficult to complain and worry that I'll be annoying and then get even worse treatment!
