Hello,

I'm new to the forum so I'm slightly confused a how to work everything!

My Fiance and I want to try for a baby after our Wedding in December (eight weeks today!)
I've been on Microgynon 30 for 5 years without a break and I stopped taking them seven weeks ago and had my normal bleed, but since then I have had nothing. I did have some brown discharge for a day when I was due to have my period had I still been on the pill, but that's it.

I have been having cramps, and I have felt quite bloated. I also have white discharge that I haven't had whilst on the pill.

I took two home pregnancy kits but they were negative, which I asumed they would be because my fiance and I are using condoms until the big day.

Does anyone know how long it might take for my periods to return? Any past experiences?

Thanks xx

Hi there hippieshake in my experience it can take quite a while for your hormones to "normalise" after coming off the pill.

I was on microgynon 30 too for 3 years. I seem to remember it took about 3 months for my periods to come back, and even then my cycles were all over the place, sometimes up to about 46 days.

I'm not saying this will be the case for you, and plenty of people conceive soon after coming off the pill, but bear in mind it might take a while to get back to normal.

Hope it goes well for you, and congrats on the forthcoming wedding!

Thank you.

I only have a BMI of 17.7 too, so I'm trying to gain some weight, hopefully that will help.

Fingers crossed!
