we are ttc#2 but it's very difficult as i seem to be constantly having thrush despite of doing everything to avoid it. one after the other.
i am wondering if anybody else is in the same boat and to see how they cope

thanks

I used to get thrush every time I had sex until a GP advised me to pee immediately afterwards - something to do with flushing out bacteria (and applies even if you're using condoms, though obviously you won't be at the moment!) - which isn't very compatible with ttc but I found that leaving it 5-10 min and then going to the loo worked fine.

In spring of this year I got it mid-cycle every month for a few months, which was a PITA as clearly that's prime BDing time. Was eventually cured by a visit to a French pharmacist (not some terrible euphemism, we were on holiday in France at the time) and a triple whammy of pessary, cream for both DH and I and a medicinal fanjo wash, though that may have been overkill tbh.

Hope some of that is of some use and apologies for any over share! :) Good luck, you have my sympathies, it's just horrid.

what a nuisance! Dita's advice sounds good, especially making sure your husband is treated too. If you treat yourself but he has it (perhaps without much symptoms) then you will get reinfected constantly. Him using cream twice a day for a week ought to do it.

I'm sure you are aware of all the usual advice on how to avoid it. Some of us seem to be more prone to it than others. I always go for the canesten duo pill and cream option.

thanks for the advice ladies, i am using OPK right now so we don't really practise a lot apart from on those few days so it's almost coming up to a month that we last BD yet i've been infected twice, i've changed my soap, im only wearing granny pants with 100% cotton, try to reduce my carbs intake oh yes and i've just been to gp who suggested that i use canested pessary on day 7 and 21 of my cycle even if i don't have infection to try and prevent it and so i've got 4 prescribed (only had to pay for 1) and going to try that, not sure for how long tough.
just have to wait and see (and try not to itch) Blush
