Hi, 2 weeks ago i had loop diathermy to remove stage 3 pre-cancerous cells on my cervix. i was warned that my cervix would now be weaker, but conceiving shouldnt be a problem. i wasnt told though how long to wait after the treatment before i start TTC. does anyone out there know??

Thank you x

I had this done a few months ago, but I was not warned about the effect it would have on my cervix.

I asked, but they said that the only effect would be a slight risk of a premature birth, but only 37 weeks onwards.

I am not sure of the reason why, but I think I read somewhere that someone was told to ttc asap after the treatment. Perhaps someone like BelaLugosiNoir might be able to help? I think she works in colposcopy.

that was the only warning i got. that due to my cervix now being weaker il probably not go beyond 37wks, so thats the same as you. il ask belalugosinoir, thanks.

FWIW, a friend of mine had this done in early pregnancy (she didn't know she was pregnant), and her dc was early and she had a very quick labour.

oh ok so if she had a baby less than 9mths later then it should be ok to TTC once my 4 week sex ban is over - woop :-) il prob ask my dr tho just incase. thanks for your replies manideadi
