Wisdom Tooth Problem

I am currently on CD11 and haven't yet ovulated (I think). We have been trying and last month I ovulated around CD13.

A couple of days ago I started to get a lot of pain around one of my growing wisdom teeth. DH has looked and says that it looks like my tooth doesn't have any room and is digging into my gum which is causing it to be swollen.

I am so worried now and don't know what to do. Obviously I am not pg yet but by the time I get the treatment I could be and I don't know if I can have any treatment/drugs while pg and if they would even class me as pg if I haven't had a positive pg test.

Has anyone ever had dentistry in the 2ww.

Hi there, I'm a dentist. My advise to you is not to worry. If you are in a lot of pain, you can see your dentist and get some antibiotics- mention that you may be pregnant and they'll make sure you get a suitable antibiotic- e.g amoxicillin. If it is not too bad, do lots and lots of hot salt water mouth washes and keep the area as clean as possible and the pain will gradually subside. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Thanks for replying. I had to have my top 2 wisdom teeth out about 10 years ago as there was not enough room for them so I am thinking that the same will be true for the bottom 2.

I have had a bit of teething pain before when it was pushing through but not like this. The surface of the tooth is fully through now and the gum is kind of swelling out over part of it. If I have to have it out will that cause me any problems with regards to x-rays, anesthetic etc.

I am a proper worrier when it comes to ttc and pregnancy. I don't want to do anything wrong.

Thanks again.
