Hi ladies,
I'm finally booked for an hsg in a few weeks time and I was jsut wondering whether the consultant I have been seeing will be doing the procedure or whether it will be some other doctor.
Any tips for making this experience as painless as possible would be gratefully received!

When I had one done it was a different doctor - I think it is usually done by a consultant radiologist due to the type of proceduer

Take ibuprofen half an hour before and it should be fine. Mine was completely painless - more undignified.

Good luck

Mine was done by a radiographer assisted by nurses. It was not very pleasant and as I had to wait so long (3hrs beyond the schedule time) the painkillers had worn off. So take some more with you!

Thanks - I guess it's unlikely to be my usual doctor then.

I've couldn't get in last month as I was told either the kit and the consultant weren't free on the same day ... so I'm guessing it's the consultant.
