Positive result, but the first window is empty

Hi

Has anyone ever had this and did you turn out to be pregnant? My sister is abroad atm and has just taken a pregnancy test, she has a strong + in the result window, but the first window is empty - she can't understand the instructions so I thought I'd post on here in case anyone has had this before. all of the chemists are now shut so she can't get another test until the morning, and I want to put her out of her misery

Think she'll need to do another test tbh. Usually the first window is the test window so if nothing's showing there then maybe there's something wrong with the test?

What language are the instructions in? Perhaps appealing for a linguist could help?

Means test is invalid. You must have a line in the control window.

Perhaps she didn't pee on/dunk it for long enough and there wasn't enough pee on it to reach the control window in which case she is pregnant.

She will have to get another test I'm afraid.
