Considering sperm donation/baby

Hi everyone, I am new to the site and considering starting a family but looking into sperm donation. Does anyone have any ideas or can point me in the right direction, it appears to be a minefield?

www.hfea.gov.uk is the website you need to look at initially as they govern all aspects of fertility treatment.

prideangel.com is a good website for finding donors. All I need now is the courage to contact a donor.

I almost used a known donor but he backed out and ive been a bit of a mess since. I'm single and looking at sperm donors to become a single mum. I'd love my baby to have a father but i don't want to wait too long and be an old mum or even worse miss the boat completely.

I have a couple of irons in the fire but the whole concept has begun to take over my life.

There was a long thread on this last year where that site was mentioned.

Not very helpful for me to say but 10 years ago I was asked if I would consider being a donor by our fertility clinic after IVF. I declined because I did not want to face the possibilty of any children that might be created ever tracing me. It is a big problem although the number of new donors has risen since 1996.
