Hi just wondered if anybody suffers from cervical erosion and still got pregnant. Ive been TTC for fourteen months for #1 I ovulate on day 14 but 5 days PO I always get a little bleed and then brown spotting for 5 days until I get AF. I know its not implantation spotting as I now get it every month and the doctor says its just cervical erosion, I am just worried its stopping me TTC. An currently waiting for my first appointment with fertility clinic. Any similar stories or advice?

thanks

Hi there,

I have cervical erosion (I have also seen it in my notes as ectropican or something similar). I had it very bad and my gyny wanted to perform cryocauterisation but I said no on numerous occasions because it doesnt affect fertility but messing with invasive treatments on your cervix can do. I had severe endometreosis as well and was due to have it all burned off this may just gone however I became pregnant in the March and so that didnt happen.

The ONLY thing I read (and I REALLY did read some material on this stuff as I became obsessed with TTC) was that it can affect cervical fluid because the membranes on the cervix are different. I just decided that when I was ovulating (I charted BBT) I would also use some sperm friendly lubricant (preseed)..so if you are worried you could try this? I cant remember but the time I got pregnant with my little boy (currently 30 weeks) I dont even think I used it ..so please please dont worry about erosion if it is that. Your doctor at the fertility clinic will give you a better idea as to why you have the erosion but erosion alone with no infection will not be stopping conception.

Best of Luck.

Hi! I have it too and am ttc- I've got other things too- having cysts investigated at the mo.
No luck for me as yet but it's not supposed to affect it, although I'm convinced that it does tbh.
Anyway, sorry I couldn't be more help but just thought I'd let you know you're not th only one :)

I have cervical erosion and got pregnant with DC3 this March. Sadly the baby didn't make it, but that was a late MC (16weeks) so I don't think would have been related to the erosion at all. As far as I know, and in my experience, it doesn't impact on fertility.

However, if it's worrying you then, like anything else, it's certainly worth double-checking at your appointment, if only to give you peace of mind.

Noticed this is a really old post bit it is something bothering me. I had cryotherapy about 13 years ago and we've been ttc for over 2 years. Can't help but wonder if its something to do with this...
