Hi all, I am alive (just - got flu and feeling shite and sorry for myself)! Also hectic at work!

Hello newbies, sorry you find your selves here and hoping your stay is not too long!

Controversial statement; I have been thinking about my ttc strategy and I don't want it to become all consuming so have thrown OPK and thermometer in the bin!! I've got my blood tests on Thursday and that'll reveal the progesterone levels that'll allow them to sort LPD and from there I'm gonna let nature take its course, what will be etc, I'm a great believer in fate (some would say that's foolish but for now...) Besides I figure if we SWI 3 times a day, a la Knitter... Grin Grin Grin perhaps I'll re-think again in the new year if I'm not upduffed by then!

like the ditty velvet Smile

Pff how are you?

Waves to Nicks, mummyA, Wiggle, hairy, wombat, owl, Caribou, Izzy, and all i've not name checked Smile

Oh Nix, big hug for you!!! Thats a very moving title, I am tearful without having read the rest...

If you do want to get educated quickly, the tutorials on FertilityFriend.com are really good (and free!) I did prefer reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility though, its a hefty tome but it covers everything you need to know

nickstermum · 27/09/2010 22:03

Wiggles seriously i know its a 2WW but alot can depend on your cycle cant it ? I was on nearly 40 UCL towards the last month i conceived. Sx day 18, got my BFP on day 42 and thinking about it - my implantation bleed on day 41 so that throws all the science out!!! Anythings possible! Not that i am trying to fill your head with optimism, i just think these things arent always set! Then again i dont temp!!!! :( not brainy enough to do it - might make me a bit more obsessive!

Freezing HEllo i dont think we have met. Seen you on the list, How are you doing - hope all ok xx

MA thanks for the hugs :) :) :) feeling a bit fragile, when something just gets you, it kind of can cut deep.

Anyone heard from Teacake? Thinking of you toots xxxx

Mamap good for you!!!!!! Im starting to think i am getting obsessive too.... i like Izzys Harry potter quote.... too true :) :) Hope you get some clarity on the old LPD xxxxxx

I've been stupidly checking old thread, having visions of dustballs blowing through our comfy living room and wondering why no one has posted since Thursday. Anyway, I finally caught on and now I'm here Smile

getawiggleon · 28/09/2010 14:54

Afternoon ladies. Well, as predicted, AF has turned up with her big knickers hoiked up to her breasts and her moody ways. Mixed feelings really. Huge sense of relief as WTF cycle is now officially over though.

Positive thoughts of day so far include:

  • Body must be getting back to normal post mc
  • I must've ovulated when I thought I did (and ff agreed)
  • Reflexology may have helped (ov'd two days after)
  • Luteal phase is 13 days (had worried it was shorter)
  • Second cycle may be messed up too so may ov late next month (see below)
  • 2ww is over therefore can poss spend less time on tinterweb googling silly symptoms
  • Now have lots of info/ advice to impart on DD when she's older re fertility and workings of female reproductive system.
  • AF is only time of month I feel inclined to willingly doing any sort of housework so ironing might get done for once.
  • Can have bottle glass of wine
  • Erm.....

Negative thoughts of day so far include:

  • Am not updiffed
  • DH going away for 2 weeks in Oct so next ttc opportunity isn't til Nov.
  • Ovaries will be two months older in Nov
  • Should've swi instead of spending time in loo poas - I am not the Virgin Mary and conception involves more than identifying fertile 'signs'.
  • It is getting closer to friends' and my own due date which makes me feel more sad about mc when was actually doing ok.

List of positives slightly longer than negatives then so I guess that's a start. All completely natural feelings I imagine that many on here have been through and several times. Apologies for self-pitying post. Onwards and upwards! Will give self a good talking to and slide down the list.

God I'm having a miserable day Sad No real reason for it, just feel like bursting into tears. Am only 3(ish)dpo but just have a feeling it's not my month. and I went to my church group this morning where there are suddenly loads of bumps again...and one of my friend's there is due in December when I would've been and she has a lovely neat bump, and it makes me miss what I would have had sooooo much... Sad Sad

sorry for the self-indulgent post, just feeling crappy and want a big hug....

hairytriangle · 28/09/2010 16:04

Hello all!

Just a quick pop in to tell you that today my HCG is at 359

'normal' at this stage is between 5 and 426, so I am 'high' end of normal and I cried when they told me.

and I have a 'lovely' progesterone level!

I don't think I'd realised quite how stressed I've been.

Having bloods again st the Epu in the morning.

Another hurdle over!

hairytriangle · 28/09/2010 16:05

appleblossom sorry you are feeling rubbish :( You just never know, hon, last week I was in the deepest depths of dispair, and now look!

You really can never tell. Hope you feel better soon.

(((((((((((((appleblossom)))))))))))))

owlshoes · 28/09/2010 16:21

Hairy I reckon you should treat yourself to a back massage or something relaxing and nice - I can imagine stressed doesn't begin to do it justice :) I like the idea of getting bloods done, wonder if I could get my GP to indulge me if I ever get up the duff again?

Apples :( Sorry to hear you're feeling crappy. It really does seem to come and go - I still believe it's better just to let it out and vent (and eat a tonne of cake whilst venting).

wiggle yay for the end of the WTF - this definitely is the point where things start to get back to normal & you should enjoy as much wine as you can lay your hands on whilst you can Grin

MummyAbroad · 28/09/2010 16:38

Hello everyone, glad you found us again Jamface

STILL NO AF. FF cruelly told me that I have 18 temps over the coverline and should take a pregnancy test because "you many be pregnant!" Piss Off FF!

Made myself feel even more miserable last night by googling ashermans syndrome. Really wish I hadnt (DONT do it)

Having my CAT scan tomorrow morning and am getting quite scared. Chocolate supply is all gone alreadyShock

Izzy, just tried changing temps online and it worked fine. I did it by going to the chart view, clicking on the day in question in the small calendar area, type in new temp over old and click save.

apple sorry you are feeling low. I had to sit through lots of cheers and smiles when a woman down the park announced her pregnancy yesterday, it never gets any easier, but the tears come less often.

Hairy thats great news hun! its really nice to hear some good news on here. How lovely that your progesterone is lovely Smile xxx

getawiggle Congrats! AF is definitely a GOOD thing. If you were updiffed you would just worry all 9 months, this way you KNOW your body is back on track so there is one less thing to worry about. (and 2 months is not very long in "egg years" Wink)

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 28/09/2010 17:15

x-posts wiggle - sorry she got you, but it is good to get back to normal.

hairy - yay!!!! >

mummyabroad - clearly my iPhone ff app isn't all it's cracked up to be, will have to go online properly later and amend. fx for the cat scan tomorrow, will be thinking of you x

((((((( applebloss )))))))

appleblossoms · 28/09/2010 19:18

Thanks for the hugs and general loveliness. Had a lovely bubbly bath with ds, which cheered me up...

Just waiting to have a work meeting with the US office, so obviously came on MN whilst I wait. Grin

MummyA what's the CAT scan for again? I know you've said..... and think I'd start throwing things at FF if I were you, starting with a rather large haddock!

hairy hurray hurray hurray!!! so SO pleased your levels are so good.... does the really high level suggest anything else?? Wink

Glad you found us jam, was wondering where you'd gone

waves to mamap, izzy and everyone else...

anyone heard from pretty? Last post was with the whole 'kerfuffle' the other night, hope she's not gone off us... Confused

MummyAbroad · 28/09/2010 20:04

Apple CAT scan is to check a 9mm lump on my lung. Its unlikely to be cancer because it hasnt grown, but it COULD be a blood clot which COULD be related to the MC or it COULD be some completely harmless scar tissue from an old infection.

Scarily the one thing that I am tempted to throw at FF now is MONEY. My free VIP trial is about to run out (how rude that it didnt wait for me to get pregnant first!) and I just discovered the bit where you can ask "guides" questions about your chart....hmmmmmmmmm.
(poor guides)

On a happier note, my DH has taught my DS to say "te amo mummy" (I love you)Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

nickstermum · 28/09/2010 20:13

Hairy that really is the most uplifting news i have heard for a while even if it does make me a little Envy Grin Grin So, so pleased for you.

wiggle sorry the old bitch got you too :( In fact i think AF should be re-named OB

Apples sorry you are feeling rubbish. I am having a rubbish week also. Having said that i am having weepy evenings then feeling more control in the day! Bizarre - it will get easier?!?! I have the most unbelievable workload for the next 3 months - so i wont have much time to dwell!

I am munching on my ABs and strangely enough those achy jelly legs are no more..... I now know in my heart i had this when i conceived. i just know. Its not an easy thing to cope with, knowing that maybe it was preventable. Insides are feeling so less tender also, (my cervix felt like i had a tampax stuck inside... inflamation i think) which is a good sign. Get it cleared up completely then have a run at TTC again... and hope to god the next one sticks.

MA hope your scan goes ok - cant believe your old bitch hasnt yet arrived either? Maybe your cycles are just a bit all over the place! What the hell is ashermans syndrome?

Mamap hope your not quite so sickly now xxx

Waves to everyone cxx

nickstermum · 28/09/2010 20:14

cariboo how are you doing little chicky? How many weeks are you along now? Have you had a scan? Love to know keep us posted Grin

MummyAbroad · 28/09/2010 20:28

Hey Nix,

this is just to save you googling.. Ashermans is infertility caused by scar tissue on the uterus created by an over vigorous ERPC or multiple ERPCS.

(I have had two! and one of the symptoms is no periods!)

I think I will ask DH to set up some kind of internet safety device that prevents me from googling horrible MC related conditions.

MamaPower · 28/09/2010 20:54

Evening all,

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 29/09/2010 08:16

mummyabroad - just popping on to wish you luck for today.

nicks I'm glad the abs are doing their job - try not to think of the mc as preventable - the truth is you will never know. When I was tested for bv, I asked if it could have caused the mc and the dr said it may have contributed to it, but millions of women are pg with it and suffer no problems, so it's still unlikely.

FF has now kindly drawn lines on my chart and told me that I'm 3 dpo, which roughly ties in with CBFM, so at least I know I ov'd this month. Fx for the rest....

Anyone heard from tunnocks by the way? Hope she's ok...

Jamface · 29/09/2010 09:35

Good luck mummya. You're having a tough time of it at the mo. Hope your AF pulls itself together and arrives soon and that CAT scan goes well. Will be thinking of you.

Hello everyone else Grin

Now, I have some questions about checking cervical position. Sorry if this is all a little intimate but I guess that's what we're here for Blush. This is my first month of checking and I just wondered what happens. Does the cervix go high for a few days and you ovulate in the middle? How many days? Does it move up gradually or is it suddenly in a completely different position when you check one day? Presumably, once it moves back down, all things being well, you've ovulated.

Secondly, grapefruit juice and CM. Have any of you been drinking it? How effective is it? My AF finished a few days ago and I've been drinking a large glass a day and what should normally be a 'dry' time of the month, quite frankly isn't. Gushing tbh. According to past experience, OPK and cervical position I shouldn't be that close to ovulating yet (should be about another month given my current cycle grrr Angry.) Is it all down to the grapefruit juice???
