Hey everyone......
Kind of one of those "coulld I be pregnant threads" - sorry!!!
Right so am on cd34 and no period, usually am no later than cd30......... Had sex once this cycle (unprotected) on cd 21, know I usually ov on cd17 ish so there is a vaugue possibility of conception (wouldn't be best timing as ds is only 8mo and have just been diagnosed with pnd.....oh and dh goes pale at mention of another baby so soon but can't help hoping I am!!)
ANYWAY have done 2 tests one yesterday afternoon and one this am (first wee!) But both have been BFNs........ They were cbd's thought they were pretty sensitive but not 100% sure.......
Have also just started taking citalopram (sp?) anti depressants (20mg) a week ago so wondering if that's causing my period to be late.......

So guess my question is: are cbd's lying to me or do you reckon its the antidepressants delaying my period??

Ta!!!

x

Hey...don't really know the answer, but doubt anyone would.
What I would say, is if you ov'd on CD17, then sex on CD21 is not the most likely to result in pg. Though it is possible.
Have looked up about citalopram on the website pharmacists use....there is nothing that would suggest it messes up your cycles. Or at least not directly. Have a look at this page
It is always possible, the change in your psyche (sp?) could alter your cycle though - so if you've just started the anti-depressants, your stress levels change and so your period delayed. Does that make sense?

Hope you get the answer you want. Good luck

Hello,

I agree with miffles, so one can really know the answer but wanted to post something anyway so as not to leave you hanging! (I am slightly the same situation myself so I know how batty it makes you feel just waiting and wondering)

Did anything particularly stressful (including travel) occur around the 17th? If so, bear in mind that stress can delay ovulation, so this could make conception on the 21st a possibility. Equally you could have had delayed ovulation, but no conception and this would explain your late period. Either way, you have to give it a couple of days and test again.

Hope you get some answers soon and you dont bankrupt yourself with the CB's in the meantime.
