What is the definitive answer? TTC DC1 and keep hearing opposing view points: every night increases chances as egg only viable for 24 hours; every night menas sperm levels deplete; sperm lives up to 72 hours so can 'wait'for egg. What should we be doing?? Also, got some 'Conceive Plus' lube, anyone tried it?

According to Taking Charge of Your Fertility (great read - get it if you havent already) you shouldnt do it every night if your partner has been found to have a low sperm count. Every other night is better (as you say, stocks are depleted) If your husbands sperm count is normal you can go as often as you likeSmile

thanks, quick answers. I haven't got the book, maybe I should. So, every other night should be fine then. Thats good, neither of us is feeling the need to go every night after all this TTC-ing!

Sorry to correct you there bigchris (just read TCOYF and feeling all smug and knowledgable Blush )

Sperm only live for three days (up to 5) if they are in fertile quality cervical fluid. (looks like egg whites) This fluid appears around the time of ovulation, at other times of the month cervical fluid is acidic and hostile to sperm so they may only live as little as a couple of hours.

Haven't tried Conceive Plus, but have used Pre-seed, maybe the same. Got pregnant first month of using it, after 5 months ttc - BUT OBVIOUSLY this could be entirely coincidental, who knows.
