Oops- sorry I really did not mean any offence by my comment, I knew from reading the thread and the thread title that some people were ttc, it was just my (obviously rubbish!) attempt at humour.

Just going to polish off a glass of wine as I'm knackered! X

AmandaCooper · 04/11/2010 22:23

Was that @ me? No no no I was just explaining. Bit confusing as we used to be the waiting thread and now there's not really a waiting thread as such.

bebejones · 05/11/2010 07:46

Blood test this morning to test my B12 levels to give me a pre TTC health check. (My GPs idea coz they have been low before) Really hope they are ok coz the injections really hurt, more than any other injection I've ever had!!

Happy Friday eveyone! Anyone got any nice plans for the weekend? We are supposed to be going to ILs tonight to let off some fireworks, but it is chucking it down so I'm not sure it'll happen :(

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 05/11/2010 12:21

Happy Friday Bebe!

Just had the call from the bank. No repayment holidays allowed. Restructuring the loan would cost a lot of money. .

bebejones · 05/11/2010 12:39

Oh no, that sucks, stupid banks! They give us all this 'we are here to help' rubbish, and 'if you can't make a payment let us know' but they don't actually do anything to help at all! Hmm Was worth a shot though, nothing ventured and all that! Any news from the shark?

DH had a 'we need to have a chat about money' moment last night. I got all worked up for it & all it was was him wanting to check the accounts to plan for presents!! Hmm I know he has just borrowed some money from my mum as he won't get paid on a project until a week after the mortgages are due. So he will pay her back when he gets paid. I don't think I'm supposed to know, DH told me, I mean I'm not supposed to let on to my mum that I know! Bit of a tricky one because DH says we can't possibly TTC when my mum has to 'bail us out' (his words, but it's a loan...for a week) he thinks it is taking the piss! But my mum keeps asking for more Grandchildren & asking if DH has 'come round yet'! Confused My head is a bit all over the place!

WYorksLass · 05/11/2010 13:29

Oh, that's rubbish AC, i hope you manage to get something sorted.
bebe, i hope your B12 leveles are ok.

Just had a little party for colleagues new baby and i got a hold so am even more broody if that is possible. Someone asked me if i was going to try for a baby after the wedding. My answer of "ummm maybe" followed by a blush gave it away i think :-) She replied with "that means yes" Blush. Oops.

Hopefully going to pick up my wedding dress tomorrow, It is 22 days, 0 hours, 31 minutes to go :o

AmandaCooper · 05/11/2010 21:19

I know! How rubbish! It was 2003 when I took the loan out, maternity leave was the last thing on my mind!

AmandaCooper · 05/11/2010 23:20

WYorks whatever you do don't pose around in it in the house, I kept putting mine on until I spilt something down it and it had to be dry cleaned! It'll be here before you know it!

My friend found out today she is having a little boy! Very exciting text message! Not jealous honest!

AmandaCooper · 06/11/2010 07:40

Morning Bebe are you up yet? You usually are up at this godless hour. Just wondering how you're feeling now. I don't know how long this uncertainty is going to go on for for you, or how much your DH thinks you can take. They just don't get it do they? If we could knock some sense into him for you, believe me we would!

bebejones · 06/11/2010 08:00

I am up! Most annoyed that it is still raining here...I want fireworks!!! Grrrr! Better stop before tonight, we already put it off once & DD was really upset! (Mostly coz she wanted to go and see her Grandad!)

AC - It's your Birthday 2moro isn't it? Any plans?

I'm just getting really hacked off with DH and his uncertainty. I think I am going to write a pros (& cons Hmm) list & confront him with it nearer to Xmas. So far all I can think of is: No matter how difficult things would be I would/could never regret or resent another child but I would regret/resent not having another one.

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 06/11/2010 08:07

I just wish they understood what the uncertainty is like for us. DH has put it off for another year (supposedly) but that's not actually his timetable for ttc, it's just a way of putting it back, maybe indefinitely.

With all this business with your meds you more than anyone need to know where you stand. At the moment you risk getting ill just trying to find out, which is silly.

I hope the weather clears up for you. Is it your birthday today or on Monday? I can't remember whether it's the day before or the day after mine.

bebejones · 06/11/2010 08:10

Monday! Can't wait, I'm such a big kid!! :o

Is your DH putting it off for a year just his way of putting off even talking about it for a year?

I really hoped that me stopping my meds would give him a bit of a push, but he seems to be completely ignoring it & thinks I've stopped just because I didn't like doing it! Hmm

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 06/11/2010 08:26

I don't think he means it to be honest, I think he just needs to feel in control of a scary process. Last night we lay in bed reading MN together and talking about baby names. It might not be far off.

AmandaCooper · 06/11/2010 08:27

Your DH does actually know why you stopped your meds though surely!

bebejones · 06/11/2010 10:28

Yes I did tell him, he sort of shrugged & said 'ok'! I'm sure it's just some kind of slective hearing or more likely selective memory!!

If the job through the shark works out that might that help your TTC plans? I know what you mean about needing to feel n control, my DH is the same. Sometimes I get really wobbly if I feel like things are spiralling & I get terrible anxiety. But more recently I have found that sometimes I just need to jump in with both feet & try not to overthink things. Baby number 2 is very much jump in kind of thing, if I think about it too much I think I would be far more scared. Just wish DH would get 'there' faster!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 06/11/2010 11:03

You better tell him again. Silly men!

AmandaCooper · 06/11/2010 11:08

I haven't heard back from the shark - but it's early days yet I suppose. I've got mixed feelings again about moving jobs. Maybe I should stay and sort things out where I am. The more autonomous I get the better things get I have to say.

I have decided not to let work get in the way of ttc, so I'm going to try to push aside all my reservations on that front and just concentrate on me and DH and how we feel about having a third person join our little family.

Off to MIL for lunch now, then hitting the shops for birthday shopping!

bebejones · 06/11/2010 11:10

I'm working up to it! Hence the writing of the list. I want to be fully 'armed' to deal with it! I think he knows he's just hoping that by ignoring it I'll forget! Hmm

Do you have any plans for your birthday? I have just made a banoffee pie as a treat for me, but I suppose DH & DD can have some! :o

bebejones · 06/11/2010 11:12

squirrel007 · 06/11/2010 22:03

Hi all! I went to watch the fireworks last night, but managed to get soaking wet by thinking it was a good idea to go with a just a hat and no umbrella (so I would see better?!). Had a nice relaxing day today too, just lazing at home and eating comfort food (mash and gravy) while DH is out with friends. Got my first midwife appointment on 1 Dec, but now I'm worried about when the scan will be (by my calculations 12 weeks coincides nicely with xmas, when I was rather hoping to be away on holiday!).

100years hope you have hot water now!!

bebe sounds like your DH is definitely more worried about you than you are, and no wonder you're annoyed if he is still ignoring the subject of ttc. Hope the B12 levels are ok.

js Am glad you handed your notice in! Hope you had a nice long weekend off work and had a chance to celebrate :)

quod did you get your car key back? How annoying for you!

wyorkslass how was the baby head-wetting?

jbells know what you mean about handing over cash for the laptop - they can be expensive and seem a bit like a luxury when there are other things to buy.

AC it's good that you can come and read mn with your DH and talk, fingers crossed he comes round soon.

nannyl · 06/11/2010 22:32

Hello all!

squirrel one of my best friends is currently 15 weeks pg

due to her wedding / honeymoon taking weeks 11 - 13 she had her scan early at 9 weeks. Apparently you can have your "12 week scan" from 9 weeks now. (when i saw my Dr for pre TTC appt she also said you can now have you 12 week scan before 12 weeks if booked in soon enough) so hopefully you can get your scan in before Xmas, and have a lovely scan pic to show off at Xmas!

Bebe sorry to hear your DH is so so worried Sad

AC.. how lovely to read mumsnet with your DH Smile My OH always asks how you all are, and i ahve informed him of the pregnancies and JS new job lol!

Right im exhausted and am off to bed.
Am slightly excited (if thats the right term?) as AF is due tomorrow and this is my last cycle when we will be using contraception.... 2 and half weeks and no more condoms for the forseeable future Blush Grin

bebejones · 07/11/2010 08:36

Morning all!

Happy Birthday AC! Have a lovely day! :)

Squirrel - Imagine how lovely it would be if you get a scan just before Christmas. One of the ladies on my MN antenatal thread had her 12 week scan on Christmas Eve! Try not to worry too much about it, I know it's hard when you really want to see bean & know that everything is ok. On the plus side if it is a little bit 'late' then you get to see more IYSWIM as baby will be more developed.

Nannyl - if you get PG straight away will that give you an August EDD? Very exciting!

JS - hope you are having a lovely celebratory weekend!

Have woken up with a sore throat & pounding head which sucks! Hope it comes to nothing, don't want to be ill on my birthday!

I know it's lovely that DH is so worried about me. But he needs to listen a bit more when I tell him that I think that I could cope. I'm fitter & healthier than I was when DD was little! Mostly (apart from the odd bug) I feel really good! This surely should impact on his our decision to TTC? Hmm
