Old thread here

Welcome aboard, make yourselves comfy I have a feeling it's going to be a bumpy ride! Wink

Sorry 100years - xposted. Really good to have a bit of excitement on the thread. It will cheer us all up.

I was going to say I thought you meant it was the contraceptive pill that you were only taking every other day and I thought "ooh that's a good idea!". You meant your migraine pill but you've planted a naughty idea in my head now lol!

100years · 12/10/2010 19:38

I shall make it my mission to cheer people up if I can. :o When I am feeling cheerful that is.

I'm not on the pill, just using those horrible rubber things, Pah.....

No I don't want to stop taking it just like that and then realise I should have stopped taking it gradually. If I start it every other day for now and then maybe when my period arrives most of it will be out of my system, but still having the dregs for when I get my period, I'm hoping that it's kind of not really working anymore for me as I don't want more migraines, but if I get them then so be it.

nannyl · 12/10/2010 19:40

lol at TCOYF being our bible.... it is Smile

bebejones · 12/10/2010 21:07

They are all very well and cute until you start potty training! :( Day from hell here!

But I still want another one! :o

How exciting Nannyl! Dec is fast approaching!

Really hoping I'll be with you in December. Just all depends on when AF shows up as I should be TTC before the 24th! Confused Although I'm not sure what harm a few days would actually do?! Hmm Of course is also dependant on DH getting his act together!

OP posts:
nannyl · 12/10/2010 21:20

bebe really hope you are TTC too.

would be cool to be trying and then be pg together

AmandaCooper · 12/10/2010 21:36

Yes the Christmas lights are now all up! I got an invitation to a christmas party yesterday.

bebejones · 13/10/2010 07:20

I was actually searching for Christmas decorations online yesterday! DD is obsessed with Father Christmas at the moment & yesterday (whilst potty training) I had to watch Peppa Pigs Christmas episode (with father Christmas in it) 12 times! Hmm

Do we think that 3 months drug free needs to be to the day before TTC? Or will say 3 days make a huge difference?! I'm not sure Confused Obviously if it'll be weeks I wouldn't risk it, but a few days can't make a difference can it? Can you tell I'm getting impatient?! I just want to get up duffed before I relapse which is unfortunately inevitable! :( At least being PG offers me some protection!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 13/10/2010 07:45

Bebe there's always a buffer zone built into these things to cover the litigation risk.

FluffyDonkey · 13/10/2010 08:23

I haven't bought any kind of conception/fertility book. Was kinda hoping I wouldn't need to, that it'd all just happen exactly as planned Hmm Grin

My mum's friend's daughter is pregnant with her 2nd, due in April. For ages my mum was saying she didn't feel old enough to be a granny (she's 58) but now she's getting all excited at the idea!

I now feel under a bit of pressure to get pregnant as soon as we start trying - and it's all my own fault for talking too much about it!

100 - you may have already checked with your doctor, but my migraine meds (taken daily) can actually still be taken in the first trimester (despite what it says in the notice - the doctor has a book which is more accurate than what they write in the notices). I'm planning on stopping them anyway just in case, but I will keep taking them until I get pregnant, which is a big relief.

bebejones · 13/10/2010 08:35

AC - I seem to rememeber one of my nurses saying that it is thought to be safe after 2months but that they always tell people not to try until 3 Hmm So I guess a couple of days won't make any odds!

All probably irrelevant seeing as ff currently has a predicted Dec OV date for me as the 15/16th. Which is too soon! Would have more chance of convincing DH in Jan anyway as that predicted date is around his birthday!! :o Wink

"means wanting to have a baby after a year and a half of marriage and eight years together, at age 33, good jobs, supportive families, nice flat, etc"

AC you are quite clearly insane.... come join me in the padded room, George and Jake are doing striptease and we have wine!!

jbells · 13/10/2010 10:50

hello ladies, back from visiting family now seems i have missed loads while i was away, i will try to catch up as soon as i get a chance, how is everyone?

so i got home to a letter in the post from my employer with my p45 in it! my contract was supose to end on the 29th of oct, but they have took it upon themselves without contacting me to end it on the 5th, im furious they have not even had the decency to ring or email me and have done this while they knew i was on holiday grrrr

JustShaggingForNow · 13/10/2010 11:01

jbells - very irritating indeed - I think you may have a case there.......

welcome back to the madhouse :)

jbells · 13/10/2010 11:22

Thanks JS, i had also told them i was pregnant the week before i went on holiday, i have my signed contract at home so i will see what they send me in my next wages, but think i will be speaking to my solicitor about it surely they cant just end someones contract early without even speaking to them or warning them

bebejones · 13/10/2010 11:38

Shock Jbells They can't do that surely?! Welcome back on board! How are you feeling (apart from the crappy work thing) hope you are ok?

Given up potty training, need DD to be more cooperative! Hmm Will try again in a few months! Just need to make sure it's done by the time #2 arrives...although she could be in her teens by then if DH has any say!! Wink

Massively broody, but coming up to mid cycle (I think) & that always has an impact. Got a friends LOs 1st Birthday on Fri/Sat just can't believe it, time goes so fast!

JustShaggingForNow · 13/10/2010 11:42

jbells You should definitely speak to your lawyer - Think you may have some kind of case there having told them you are PG.

bebe I OV'd yesterday (not using TCOYF but had the stabbing pains and got a positive OPK so no need to do all the charting!!) and so was feeling a bit :( about the wasted egg..... Sounds like the potty training is fun.... Makes me realise how clueless I am on all things to do with bringing up children as I would have no idea how to do that!!

jbells · 13/10/2010 11:54

thanks guys

Bebe- i know i was totally shocked, ive been feeling a bit crappy lately hardly want to eat cos just feel nauseus all the time, sorry that potty training didnt go well, my mum keeps telling me that i shud start potty training DD but i know theres no point yet, shes only 18 months and she is not talking which is a concern for me mentioned it at drs and they sed, theres a very broad range for when they start to talk so im concentrating on that for now, got my scan date thru for the 29th of oct think ill be about 12 weeks by then

JS- i will speak to my lawyer doesnt seem like a workplace can just act like that, oh and i have no idea how to potty train either and i have a DD lol i think you just pick these things up as u go along, and try to get tips of people who have already done it

bebejones · 13/10/2010 12:45

JS - I get v :( about the wasted egg(s) wish you just collect them up & put them back in!!
Re potty training, I have no idea either, you just sort of learn as you go, there is no right or wrong coz every child is different. I was potty trained by 18 months apparently Hmm But there is alot to be said for leaving it later I think. I keep thinking DD is ready, & she shows all the 'signs', she just doesn't want to do it! DD is way more willful & independant than I was. If she doesn't want to do something there is no way she is going to do it without a fight! I thought weaning was tough, this is a whole new level of parenting!

Last night DH asked her if she needed a wee, she replied 'No daddy, I need cake!' :o That's my girl!! :o

JBells - Glad you have a scan date through. 29th will come round in no time at all, we're almost halfway through October as it is!

Hi WhyWait - I really want to do the Early Years qualification but at the moment we can't afford for me to have a year unpaid.... Think I may look into it between DC1 and (hopefully) DC2 - now that's advanced planning!!!

JS - Fingers crossed for you! Just hope you can get away from the BFH!

I'd love to train to be a teacher, but I don't want to do it until I've had my family. Have sussed out courses etc, but will probably have changed by the time I get round to it! Hmm

WW - The lady who does our toddler group & the playgroup is doing the NVQ. She works part time there whilst she is training & the rest of the time volunteers at the primary school to get experience. Maybe this is an option?

JBells I am an employment solicitor, let me know if I can help. If you don't mind the fact that I am insane that is!
