Sex and IVF question?

I have a friend who is going through IVF at the moment - she's been told that she can't have penetrative sex, but wants to know whether it is safe for her to orgasm in any other way as she's going a bit mad! She's a bit shy and doesn't want to ask the doctors so she's asked me to ask you lovely ladies?

Yes it is fine - penetrative sex is 'banned' after egg recovery due to risk of infection and damage to the already 'mucked about' vaginal walls and enlarged ovaries.
If there is any danger of sperm reaching anywhere it shouldn't, then a condom must be used. Orgasms alone (so to speak) are OK - that bit isn't the problem, it is all to do with infection and avoiding accidental sperm meets egg incidents!
