I'm confused!

Hi, this is going to sound really stupid, but after only TTC since Aug, I've had one period and done two tests both BFN. First test when period was 3 days late (cycle goes from 33-38 days/tested on day 33!)
But I keep going light headed and feeling nauseous in the afternoons, also my lower stomach is really bloated and can't seem to lose weight even though I run twice a week and do a Zumba class.
I tested just on Monday and got a bfn, but just used a cheapie test from Tesco.

Am I wishful thinking that I still could be pregnant or could it be the test was wrong?

I need to know one way or other as doing the Great North Run this Sunday!!!!

Thanks x

what cycle day are you on now? when did you ovulate?

wallydog · 16/09/2010 17:17

I'm on day 18, and not sure if ovulated yet!
No usual signs - except one or two twinges but nothing to write home about! Last BD was 12th Sept (day 14 of cycle). First started TTC 7th Aug!

I have however lost 2lbs this morning!!!! And bloating has gone down a little!
Just done Zumba without passing out though!
Maybe wishful thinking me thinks!

when was you last period? and how long is your cycle normally:counting from the first day of your period to the last day before your next period? (if that makes any sense to you?)

wallydog · 17/09/2010 08:22

My cycle can be anything between 33-38 days.
My last period was Aug 30th and that came on the 38th day of cycle - not the longest! The longest was 44 days but that was shortly after coming off the pill! I've been off the pill for over a year now!

I'm off to the Doc's tonight to see what they say! Can't be dizzy doing the run!

Thanks for your reply.

if your last period was on the 30th august, and if you ovulate 14 days before your next (which is not true of evryone, just a guideline),this means you will not have ovulated yet, never mind conceived! therefore, lets assume you ovulated earlier in the cycle than "normal", there still will not be enough hcg present in your urine to tell you either way with any accuracy, whether you are pregnant or not. the best way to find out is go to the doctor. what is your bmi? are you in the healthy range? also ask for a check of your blood sugar levels? you're not diabetic are you? also are you taking enough nutrients pre and post exercise? as you have probably gathered, you DO need to go to your gp for a thorough examination in order to get an accurate diagnosis. One thing is certain, as you so rightly pinpointed: you most certainly cannot compromise your safety and go on a run when your health is so fragile. good luck, take care. please post back with the results.xxx

Thanks for your concearn! I went to the doctors, but he was behind schedule and kind of rushed me and so I got no further foward! He reccomended that I book a futher appointment to discuss nutrition etc! So was v. disapointed! So today I did another test and was BFN again, so am doing the run tomorrow! Wish me luck!
My BMI is hig!

Sorry about all the bad spelling in previous post! I did the Great North Run yesterday and felt fine! I have decided to stop thinking about getting pregnant until after Christmas now, as it's too stressful planning! I am going to just let nature take its course whilst I concentrate on getting fit and healthy before I hopefully conceive.

I will be back! :)

Hey I'm back quick I know!

I just went to the loo, and had a little bit of clear discharge with a little speck of a reddy /brown colour! Any ideas? I have mild low abdominal pains too! I wouldn't thought period was due for another 10 days at the earliest. Anyone experience this?
