Well here goes for the new thread

Welcome aboard the beanie express
Wishing everyone sucess on their TTC journey, and hope that the journey is travelled with friends.

It's a beautiful day today so I hope that that rubs off on our new thread and that we'll soon be seeing some beautiful days here too.

Lots of love to one and all

Congratualtions handbag (that could have been my name before I had my son!, now I never get to use the ones I already have). I read on another thread that you had gone for private tests for secondary infertility. Where did you go? Did you get a recommendation?

Hulababy · 14/09/2005 19:54

Massive congratulations handbag Really pleased for you!!!

milosmum · 14/09/2005 19:59

HandbagAddiction · 15/09/2005 10:12

Jane,

I basically went to the see the doctor because I was having very odd cycle lengths - anything from 26 to 36 days and odd mid cycle spotting, when pre dd I had been regular as clockwork. Although the doctor was unconcerned and never thought I actually had secondary fertility issues - she suggested that I have some tests done just in case and asked if I had private medical insurance so she could refer me for a pelvic scan. Got all the blood tests done on the NHS, but decided to pay £185 myself to get the scan done as I couldn't be bothered to wait until the OK from the health insurance to come through. Had scan done at Guildford Nuffield hospital.

You need to find yourself a sympathetic GP who will refer you though...not sure you can just 'pay and go'.

Hope that helps.

dinosaur · 15/09/2005 10:19

Sorry to gatecrash the thread but HandbagAddiction!!! Keeping everything crossed for you!!!!!!

HandbagAddiction · 15/09/2005 10:36

Hello Dino! Thanks for crashing the thread and thanks for the good wishes! Believe me...I'm kepping everything crossed too. Desparate for tomorrow to come so I can retest and convince myself it's all real.

Hope to catch you at the next City Meetup....

LunarSea · 15/09/2005 11:00

JAG123/Harrizeb - I'm in your neck of the woods too (live Leamington/Warwick area, work in Solihull). Don't post on these threads much though - too busy at work, and haven't really got the inclination to talk about ttc all the time after 9 years of it, with only about 18 months off in the middle.

Still we may finally be making progress as have dumped the GP who was insistent there couldn't possibly be a problem as we have ds (never mind that cycles since then bore no resemblance to before, and it took over 4 years with him), and have been paying ££££ to see a consultant privately. Clomid and monitoring scans on the menu for next cycle, so hopefully that will up our chances a bit.

milosmum · 15/09/2005 14:08

lunarsea- 9 years honey-... lets hope the new doc sorts you out!

Debs im hoping it you next honey (obviously id be right before or after though ).

vaunda- wondered where you were!

HandbagAddiction · 15/09/2005 14:32

Lunarsea - really hope that the new GP is supportive and that your consultant provides with some answers. This was our 7 months of trying for #2 so I have no idea of what you must be going though having had 9 years of it all. Really hope you can get somewhere now.

Debbsy - really hope that all the signs turn out to be what we all hope they are. Can honestly say that this time (provided that tomorrow's test is still a BFP of course) - I first starting feeling sick on Sunday night - so only 8DPO or CD22. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hello also to Hula, Milosmum, Harriezb, Jen, Jag and Jane....and welcome back Vaunda - glad your results are showing that all is OK.

Will post tomorrow morning when I've done another test...watch this space.....

Lilsis1975 · 15/09/2005 14:36

Milosmum this is my new name.... I swapped cos my big sis is coming on these boards her name is Bigsis1968 lol

jane313 · 15/09/2005 15:11

thanks handbag. I will give it a go through gp otherwise I will have to have all the tests done privately but have no insurance so we will see what we can afford. I just need to know if there is something wrong or not really as time is running out a bit.

lunarsea I don't know how you cope. Its doing my head in after 4 months.

good luck debbsy

romilly · 15/09/2005 15:28

HandbagAddiction · 16/09/2005 08:13

OK looks like I'm definitely pregnant then! On CD27 and got another BFP this morning using a Boots test and a nice strong line this time. .

However, still early days and I really don't want to leave this thread and all of you. you have all provided me with such great support over the past 7 months and mores to the point - kept me relatively sane through this TTC lark. so if you don't mind - thnk I'll hang around for a while until I get used to the idea of 'being up the duff' !!!

Hope you are all OK and looking forward to your weekends!
