So how likely is it?

DH & I had unprotected sex a week ago. It was right at the end of my period, the last "bitty" loss day. I thought that the timing meant it was a low-risk time for conception.

However, I have been exhausted the last few days, needing the loo a lot and feeling quite tender in my lower abdomen.

So how likely is it that I am PG? Is it my mind causing the symptoms or my ovaries?!

I would like to TTC dc3, so it wouldn't be unhappy news, but we had been planning to wait until after Christmas.
Can't talk to my RL friends about this as most are TTC, and some have been having a bit of trouble. I don't want to be insensitive towards them by sharing my accidental worries.

yes but i came off the pill when i missed it equalling the bleed (withdrawel bleed i know) i came off it as me and my partner split up then 4 weeks later had a totally normal heavy period once again. but when i was 16 i know 4 a fact i use to ovulate not that long before periods as i got loads of stretchy mc accompanied by pain, if that wasnt ovulating i dont know what it was. but now i do ovulate more to the normal time after coming off the mirena coil.
can also say the same happend to my aunty with both her kids, and also my mother

beckie90 · 30/08/2010 10:27

and thats what i said in the original post if you look not 2 days before a period. but 2 days before a bleed, because i was on the pill. the lady after said you cannot get pregnant before your period, but i never said that

sorky · 30/08/2010 11:25

No Becky you are right you didn't say that.

What you said was you got pregnant at the end of your cycle, which implies, but does not explicitly mean, it was immediately prior to your period.

That is why I included the information about delayed ovulation.

Shall we all just put it down to everybody is different, and TTC (and concieving when not trying to too) is a bit weird and there is no clear cut answer!?

LittleSilver · 30/08/2010 12:20

Absolutely, everyone is different and that's a very important point, because it's also why misinformation like "You always ov on CD14" still flies about and confuses people.

But you still do need an egg!

Beckie, you said end of cycle; which does usually refer to your luteal phase, with CD1 being counted as the first day of bleeding. Remember ovulation can be tricky to pinpoint, even if you are temping, checking cervical position and Cm and opks as well, it can still be hard to identify. I hope that helps clear it up?
